Akha Journal of the Golden Triangle is the second journal in the series covering human rights issues affecting the Akha mountain people of Thailand. In 2003 Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra ordered a "Drug War" in Thailand. Thousands of people were murdered or died in "mysterious" circumstances. Many of them were hilltribe. This book documents some of the killings. The book also describes other human rights problems the Akha face including the removal of Akha children to residential schools by American missionaries which destroys their culture, language and knowledge system by separating them from their families and villages and forcing conversion.
