Programme Date Title/Notes 3 March David Chapman – ‘Any cowd, wed n windy Wensdi’ 10 March Mike Lincoln – Lighting 10 March Entries for the Nature Competition 17 March Colin Lusby – , the Usual and Unusual 24 March Nature Competition 31 March Critique Night PDI – please bring along your digital images (sized at 1920 x 1080 max) for your fellow members to view and hopefully give helpful tips on how to improve the image. Please bring your images in on a USB stick.

A couple of our members have recently given very useful talks, namely Jorj Malinowski on Lightroom and Keris Eyton-Williams on tips and tricks on printing which were greatly received by members present. During the next weeks we will also be hearing from David Chapman and Mike Lincoln.

There are a great many different types photo editing software available such as Lightroom, Photoshop, Elements, Affinity, ON1 Photo Raw, Gimp and Snapseed (for phones) to name but a few. Some are available on a monthly subscription, some a one off payment and a few are open source. If you are not using any type of editing software ask one of our members to see which one they are using. Most members are using some sort of photographic software to develop their raw files (or NEF if using Nikon). Most camera manufacturer’s will also have their own software which will come with the camera or can be downloaded. It is appreciated that some of these programmes can be daunting at first but most of our members will have knowledge of one image software or another. If you have a question or are having trouble with a particularly tricky bit of software, have a word with one of our members as someone will know the answer (or will know a member who does).

In addition, photographic magazines are another source of information that often contain tips and tricks from using your camera to enhancing your images. Members will often bring their old magazines in so keep an eye out.

Don’t forget, capturing the image correctly in the first instance is our aim, any additional enhancements through image software is just a bonus.
