STREET TREE COMMITTEE MISSION STATEMENT:

“The Coronado Street Tree Committee serves as an advisory committee to the City Council and to City Staff working to maintain, improve, renew and protect the urban forest in public rights- of-way, as well as to share information with the public, to enhance appreciation of , promote proper tree care and to encourage participation in the development of Coronado's urban forest.”

State law generally precludes the Committee Board from discussing or acting on any topic initially raised during oral communications. Your information may only be received and either placed on the next agenda or referred to the Supervisor - Parks.

1. Discuss replacement tree options and approve replacement tree along the 100 block of E Avenue.

A. Staff recommended action – Approve Brisbane Box (Lophostemon conferta) as the replacement tree.

B. Alternative action – Approve one of three staff recommended tree species below to the City’s approved street tree list (“Restricted Use” tree list) and approve as the replacement tree:

i. Ghost Gum ( papuana a.k.a. Eucalyptus papuana) ii. Lemon Scented Gum (Corymbia citriodora a.k.a. Eucalyptus citriodora) iii. Silver Dollar Gum (Eucalyptus polyanthemos)

C. Alternative action – Approve tree variety presented by Street Tree Committee members or members of the public to the City’s approved street tree list (“Restricted Use” tree list) and approve as the replacement tree.
