Logos: CTA in partnership with Chicago Department of Transportation and Chicago Department of Housing and Economic Development Welcome: Welcome to the public open house for the Ashland Avenue Bus Rapid Transit Environmental Assessment and project. • In April 2013, CTA and CDOT announced a vision for a center running Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system on Ashland Avenue between Irving Park Road and 95th Street to provide a fast and reliable north/ south transit connection for 16 miles through Chicago. The vision reflects the planning process and community engagement undertaken in 2012. • Over the summer, CTA and CDOT heard from various key stakeholders about this plan. We are now holding two public open house meetings as an extension of this outreach to gather additional input from the public. CTA and CDOT are still developing the Ashland BRT design, and we are considering options and modifications, including the implementation of additional left turns, based on continued feedback from the public. • The public open house meetings will summarize studies of the project impacts, including traffic analyses, that have been performed as part of the formal Environmental Assessment for the project, in accordance with federal government requirements. The Environmental Assessment is now complete and available on CTA’s website and in hard copy at several community locations. This change of population was initially produced by changes in the immigration laws in the nineties, which allowed not U.S. born people (foreign born) Total U.S. population 12,901,563 to integrate as part of the American society. These changes in American population lead to a need for Hispanic or Latino (of any race) 1,967,121 new and social and educational programs. Not Hispanic or Latino Total 10,934,442 The U.S.census bureau in 2000 established U.S. population was 281.4 million; 35.3 million (12.5%) White alone 8,348,056 were from a Hispanic origin. According to the same organism, the estimated US population in 2008 was 304,059,724 million; 45.4 million were from a Hispanic origin. The total population of Illinois was estimated at 12,901,563 for 2008. The estimated population for the Cook County was 5,294,664 (Source: U.S. Census Bureau - 2000) million; 23.2% of this population has a Hispanic origin.     O R D I N A N C E BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO: SECTION 1. Title 16 of the Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended by deleting Chapter 16-8 in its entirety and substituting a new Chapter 16-8 in lieu thereof, as follows: 16-8-010 Title. This chapter shall be known and may be cited as the “Industrial Corridor System Fund Ordinance.” 16-8-020 Definitions. For purposes of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply: “Commissioner” means the commissioner of planning and development. “Conversion areas” are geographic areas within the industrial corridor system identified for potential zoning and/or other land use changes or modifications in a plan approved by the Chicago Plan Commission or city council and designated pursuant to Sec. 16-8-030. “Conversion fee” means the fee collected by the city to mitigate impacts to the industrial corridor system caused by the rezoning of land within conversion areas. “Department” means the department of planning and development. “Development site” means a zoning lot, or portion thereof, within a rezoned area for which a building permit is being issued. “Industrial corridor” is defined in Sec. 17-17-0274. “Industrial corridor system” means, collectively, all of the city’s industrial corridors, as the same may be designated or amended from time to time. “Industrial establishment” is defined in Sec. 17-17-0275. “Industrial use” means any use in the Industrial Use Group under Sec. 17-17-0105. “Net site area” means the entire land area within the boundaries of a development site, less the area of all land required or proposed for public use, provided such public use area is not counted as net site area for the purpose of calculating floor area ratio or other bulk and density regulations.
