Paul (1953-1954) Imperial County is home to approximately 180,000 residents who live and work within its seven cities (Brawley, Calexico, Calipatria, El Centro, Holtville, Imperial and Westmorland) and eight unincorporated communities (Bombay Beach, Heber, Niland, Ocotillo, Palo Verde, Salton City, Seeley and Winterhaven). The county was the last to be established in California in 1907; however, it is the ninth largest California County, encompassing 4,284 square miles. Imperial County has much to offer. They have a rich agricultural heritage, which includes the production of half of our nation’s winter vegetables; an extensive amount of renewable resources, including geothermal, wind, and solar; a wide-range of cultural and outdoor recreational activities with hundreds of points of interest such as the Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area, a magnet for off-road enthusiasts, and the Sonny Bono Salton Sea National Wildlife Refuge, a renowned birding site; and a lively population with frequent family-oriented community events. We District Governor Dave Roberts will be announcing the 2016-2017 Cabinet in Yuma at the “Seize the Day” District Annual Convention on Sunday May 1st following Live Well San Diego the election. [email protected] I am pleased to report that I have completed all 858-775-9241 e4stf my requirements (should you choose me) to Second Vice serve as your next District Governor prior to heading to District Governor our Annual Lions Clubs International Annual Convention Neil Seefeldt, Jr. and District Governor-Elect training in Japan. My home Lions Club (Live Well San Diego) has “Family for Life” been working tirelessly to collect Teddy Bears for abused Chula Vista Host children treated at Palomar Forensic Health Center in Lions Club Escondido. We delivered our Teddy Bears on March 9th and were joined by executives of the Golden Door Spa who made a $10,000 donation to this important resource that provides compassionate treatment and other services for abused adults and children in North San I want to continue thanking everyone in the Diego County. This is one of only two facilities in San District for an outstanding job you are doing. This Diego County serving our 3.2M residents and many year is going fast.
