HK TIME Dubai Duty Free (Group 1) (26.3.2011) S1-4 (7:45 P.M. 26.3.2011 UAE TIME) Sponsored By Dubai Duty Free Second Leg of the Asian Mile Challenge Meydan Racecourse - Turf Track - 1800 Metres (Left-handed) For SH 3yo and upward & NH 4yo and upward. (16 Starters) Expert Analysis by Ed Marnane Several to consider in a wide-open race. Luca Cumani’s Presvis, twice a winner over the course and distance, appeals if getting a strong pace, which is required for him to be at his best. He is closely matched with Wigmore Hall when they clashed in the Jebel Hatta, the traditional prep, earlier in the month. On that occasion, Wigmore Hall, the Michael Bell-trained gelding ran on strongly to snatch the prize, defeating Group 1 winner Poet’s Voice and Cumani’s gelding in an exciting three-way photo finish. Arguably the winner is open to more improvement in terms of fitness, it was his first start since running a creditable fifth in the Emirates Airline Champion Stakes at Newmarket last October. The principal local hope is Derbaas, representing last year’s winning yard, ticks plenty of boxes and is feared. He has thrived this winter in Dubai, winning four times including the Al Fahidi Fort, a Group 2 event on turf, where the runner-up Raihana re-opposes. The De Kock-trained filly, second in last year’s UAE Derby, is one of two runners representing the South African maestro who has won this race twice. His second runner River Jetez has stronger claims, having caught the eye when winning the Balanchine Stakes, slamming Reem and ten others, over the same course and distance. The highly-progressive Beauty Flash, unbeaten in his last three starts, carries the hopes of Hong Kong. The step up to 1800m doesn’t look ideal, while it is slightly disconcerting that he failed to deliver in his sole international foray, the Yasuda Kinen. STALLIONS 2017 STALLIONS 2017 Your Key to Success Welcome to Rathbarry & Glenview Studs 2017 Dear Breeders, The nature of the bloodstock industry is that each and every year brings fresh challenges as well STALLIONS 2017 as new achievements and 2016 has been no different. The main concern is that there has been increased catalogue sizes to cater for a larger foal crop of 2015, so the necessity for breeders to focus on quality and value is more important than ever. Happily we have witnessed another fantastic year for ACCLAMATION’s progeny on the track with 17 Black Type performers including Group 1 Prix de l’Abbaye winner MARSHA and Dual Group 2 winning 2-Y-O MEHMAS. LIMATO has again proved a great advertisement for TAGULA in 2016, when competing at the highest level. He was successful in Group 1 July Cup and Group 1 Prix de la Foret and we look forward to even more successes for him in 2017. As we write the first crop foals by the Group 2 Winning and Dual Group 1 placed 2-Y-O MOOHAAJIM and the Dual Group 1 Winning Miler, XTENSION, are being prepared for the sales ring and we are confident that you will be impressed by their excellent quality and confirmation. In 2017 we are proud to introduce two new stallions which will offer breeders a great variety of choice to our existing roster - AJAYA, the Group 2 Gimcrack Stakes Winning 2-Y-O by Leading Sire Invincible Spirit from an established stallion producing female line and KODI BEAR, the Group 2 Winner of 4 Stakes Races from 7-8 furlongs, by Multiple Stakes Producing sire Kodiac.

  • Postponed Features Among 39 Entries for the King George VI & Queen
Ascot Racecourse Media Release for immediate release, Wednesday, June 8, 2016 Postponed features among 39 entries for the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO) Last year's winner Postponed headlines 39 top-class entries for the £1.15-million Group One King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Sponsored by QIPCO) at Ascot on Saturday, July 23, details of which are revealed today. The number of entries this year, which include 14 three-year-olds, is significantly up for the summer showpiece of the European Flat season, with 31 put forward in 2015, 35 in 2014 and 29 in 2013. Five-year-old Postponed is bidding to become only the third dual winner of Ascot's 12- furlong flagship race, following on from Swain (1997 & 1998) and Dahlia (1973 & 1974). Formerly trained by Luca Cumani, the Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum-owned Postponed is unbeaten in three starts this year for new handler Roger Varian and was last seen out when defeating Found (Aidan O'Brien) impressively by four and a half lengths in the Group One Queen Elizabeth II Coronation Cup (Sponsored by Investec) at Epsom Downs on June 4. Investec Derby hero Harzand (Dermot Weld) headlines 14 entries from Ireland. The son of Sea The Stars could bid to become the 13th colt to complete the Derby/King George double in the same season and the first since Galileo in 2001. Aidan O'Brien, Ireland's champion Flat trainer, accounts for 12 entries in total, the most of any handler. His possibles, besides Found, include Minding, who took her Group One tally to four in the British Classic, the Investec Oaks, at Epsom Downs on Saturday, June 4, Gold Cup favourite Order Of St George, globe-trotting dual Group One winner Highland Reel and impressive French 2,000 Guineas victor The Gurkha.

The three-year-old Cape Cross colt, owned by breeder Anthony Oppenheimer and trained by John Gosden in Newmarket, captured Britain's premier Classic, the Investec Derby, over 12 furlongs at Epsom Downs impressively on June 6 after being supplemented following a runaway Betfred Dante Stakes success at York in May. FRIDAY, 17 MAY 2019 TELECASTER TOO HOT EBF, MATCHBOOK LAUNCH FUTURE STAYERS= SERIES By Emma Berry IN THE DANTE YORK, UK--British racing's commitment to the promotion of stayers was again emphasised at York Racecourse on Thursday with the launch of the Matchbook EBF Future Stayers' Series with a valuable ,100,000 bonus available for graduates of the programme of 2-year-old races. Having identified a lack of opportunities in the racing programme for staying-bred juveniles, in 2015 the British European Breeders' Fund (BEBF) and the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) created a series of races aimed at the offspring of sires and dams who had won over 10 furlongs or more. The introduction of four sire- and dam-restricted races that year has now grown into 16 2-year-old contests to be run over at least seven furlongs during the second half of the season. The BEBF has engaged in a first commercial partnership with betting exchange Matchbook to inject ,128,000 into a series worth a total of ,283,000. cont.p6 Telecaster turns back Too Darn Hot in the Dante | racingfotos.com IN TDN AMERICA TODAY By Tom Frary WOUNDS HEALING AT SANTA ANITA As is generally the case where York=s G2 Al Basti Equiworld Bill Finley checks in on things at Santa Anita following a Dubai Dante S. is concerned, there was some serious Derby tumultuous time spurred by a rash of breakdowns at the reckoning on Thursday as Too Darn Hot (GB) (Dubawi {Ire}) California track.Click or tap here to go straight to TDN America.
