Therefore, the urgency of an internationalised home curriculum is as great as ever. We now know that students that go abroad have the opportunity to acquire a range of transversal skills that are sought after by employers. A key question is therefore how non-mobile students can acquire these skills through the curriculum ‘at home’. In this keynote, we will explore the concept of internationalisation at home and look some of the practical implications for universities and programmes of study. 3 Ben ECG 24 60 mins Participants will be introduced to and explore the dual nature of bias, conscious and unconscious, how it operates (cognition and how the brain works), and its implications in the academy and the workplace (illustrated through selected research, including the Implicit Association Test). In addition, participants will be introduced to the concept of microaggressions and the connectivity of microaggressions to bias, and the impact of both in our daily lives.
