After spending five months in isolation in Norway, Elverum emerged with a cache of heart-felt and reflective songs reminiscent of The Glow Part II. A drastic change from 2002’s epic tale of Mount Eerie, we find Elverum playing acoustic pop songs with the bare minimum backing of instrumentation. New England glows with honest songs and the joy of working with friends. K compatriots Calvin Johnson, Khaela Maricich of the Blow, Adam Forkner of Yume Bitsu/[[VVRRSNN]], Mirah and Elvrum all contribute to the music and the loose, inspired arrangements. After completely finishing an album in 2002 Anderson decided to return to the studio in the summer of 2003 and re-record the best songs from his last year of performing. The result is Jason at his finest: songs with an evolved writing style and obvious maturity. The off-the-cuff, "first take" sessions were so transcendent that Phil even donated a new Mount Eerie song, "Thanksgiving", to the project, as it was recorded with the same pick-up band and was in line with the album's vision and emotional timbre. "You Fall” is an inspired duet between Anderson and Elvrum, their voices intertwining through the melancholy anthem's sublime production. The song flows seamlessly into "A Book Laid On Its Binding"--a song written by Jason's good friend and tour mate Joe Knapp, of Omaha's Son, Ambulance. It consists of nothing more than piano, Jason, and the golden, heartbreaking voice of Mirah.

Ex: http://sciencereligionmyth.blogspot.com Apollo’s name has no clear parallels in other Indo-European languages, and he is the only Olympian god whose name does not figure on the Linear B tablets (a word fragment on a Cnossus tablet has been read as a form of his name, but the reading is highly conjectural and has convinced few scholars). The absence may well be significant. We possess well over a thousand texts that come from the palaces of Thebes in Boeotia, Mycenae, and Pylus in the Peloponnese, Cnossus and Chania on Crete, that is from practically the entire geographical area of the Mycenaean world, with the exception of the west coast of Asia Minor. Only a fraction contains information on religion, not only the names of gods and their sanctuaries, but also month names that preserve a major festival and personal names that contain a divine name (so-called theophoric names); but the sample is large enough to preserve almost all major Greek divine names.

Now their 6-year romantic relationship is put to the test when Dan receives an attractive job offer from the record label with whom he interns, and he must choose between a move forward and a future with Mel. Growth and temptation happen – but will their relationship remain part of their future? Writer/director Hannah Fidell explores the struggles of young love as it begins to face the next steps into adulthood. Taissa Farmiga and Ben Rosenfield give warm, genuine performances as Mel and Dan, alongside Lindsay Burdge (star of Fidell’s A TEACHER) as a colleague of Dan’s who entices him in more ways than one. HANNAH FIDELL DISCUSSES 6 YEARS I wrote 6 Years focusing on the relationship of two young adults. Who hasn’t had a first love? And who hasn’t gone through a breakup with said first love? (for those of you who are married to that first person...please ignore…) More than anything though, I modeled Dan and Mel’s world on my group of friends in college. Although, the fighting and the physical violence, that was pure fiction. The script was in great hands with Taissa and Ben.

Thu 13 May 6.30-8.30pm Five Bodies Live transcript KEYWORDS language, feel, contemporary, mother, form, conversation, sound SPEAKERS Sofia Lemos, Maureen N. McLane, Jack Thacker, Mirene Arsanios, Lila Matsumoto Sofia Lemos 00:04 Good evening folks. Welcome. My name is Sofia Lemos, I’m the Curator of Public Programmes and Research at Nottingham contemporary and tonight it is my pleasure welcoming you to Five Bodies, our online poetry programme. For those of you who are tuning in for the first time, Nottingham Contemporary works with artists, with academics, with thinkers, poets, to reflect on how research and practice intertwine in contemporary art and visual culture. Our public programmes and to understand how sensing, feeling, knowing might support different world-making narratives. So, this evening is the last session of our year-long poetry series, which looks at how creative critical practices of attention, invention, and experimentation might help us develop new sensibilities. The programme welcomes some unexpected pairings, drifts, but most importantly, it welcomes multiple voices to reflect on how poetics is not the recognised or given modalities of form, but it’s a practice that welcomes creative critical practice, hybrid methodologies and experimental thinking. So, Five Bodies was imagined in conjunction with my colleague Sarah Jackson at Nottingham Contemporary, pardon, at Nottingham Trent University, who has led the Critical Research, the Critical Poetics Research Group since 2015, and with her, I also want to thank my colleagues Jack Thacker and Olivia Ahearne for their support in putting together this year-long poetry series. I’d like to take this opportunity to show our gratitude to tonight’s poets Mirene Arsanios, Lila Matsumoto, and Maureen N.
