Lyndhurst, Ohio 44124 Mr. Karl Williamson, Principal (216) 691-2068 Dear Senior Students, Parents & Guardians, Congratulations to you and your family as we embark on the final chapter in your success here at Brush. This booklet has been developed in order for you to have important information at your fingertips. Many events are scheduled throughout the course of the 2018-2019 School Year involving the Senior Class. PLEASE POST THIS INFORMATION IN A CONVENIENT PLACE AT HOME AND SAVE FOR REFERENCE. This booklet is given in an attempt to answer the many questions that arise each year concerning senior activities. Please feel free to access this Senior Class information on our website at www.sel.k12.oh.us. 2 10-29-2018 Graduation Requirements & Commencement Commitment Graduation Requirements For all Candidates for the May 22, 2019 Commencement Ceremony Our expectation is that every senior will participate in the commencement ceremony on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at 6:30 p.m. at Connor Palace Theater. The commencement exercise is a traditional, dignified ceremony that is a special event for the participants, their families and friends. The entire school community recognizes the event as the culmination of 13 years of education. We here at Charles F. Brush High School believe that graduation is a right and that participating in the commencement exercise is a privilege. In order to participate in the graduation ceremony all requirements for a graduation diploma needs to be completed by, Thursday, May 16, 2019. The requirements for graduation are as follows: 20 units of credit: 4 Units ..................... Language Arts 3 Units ....................... Social Studies 4 Units ........................ Mathematics .50 Units .................................Health 3 Units ................................ Science .50 Units ............ Physical Education 5 Units ............................ *Electives *Electives - All students must earn 5 credits. Credits must include at least one unit or two (.50) units of Fine Arts. All students must receive instruction in economics and financial literacy, which is covered during scheduled government classes. Students following a career-technical pathway are exempted from the fine arts requirement. Ohio’s State Tests o Students must earn a cumulative passing score of 18 points, using seven end-of-course state tests. These tests are ELA I (English Language Arts), ELA 2, Algebra, Geometry, US History, Government and Biology. All student fees must be paid in full Any student who completes the above graduation requirements on or before May 16, 2019, will have earned the privilege of participating in the Commencement Ceremony on May 22, 2019. Students unable to complete the above graduation requirements by May 16, 2019, will not be eligible to participate in the commencement exercises. Students who complete the graduation requirements after May 22, 2019, but before July 31, 2019 will receive a diploma dated August 1, 2019. These rules are necessary to enable the administration to prepare a dignified ceremony for all students. *Students who are eligible to complete all of their credits by end of 1st Semester on December 20, 2018 will receive a diploma dated December 31, 2018. December graduates are eligible to participate in the May 22, 2019 Commencement Ceremony. Please inform Mr. Johnson and Ms. Myers if you choose to participate. 3 10-29-2018 Commencement Commitment We ask that each member of the Graduating Class of 2019 please agree to adhere to the following guidelines and agreements. We would like to advise you and your family that failure to abide by the guidelines and agreements will result in being denied the opportunity to participate in the 2019 Commencement Ceremony. Adherence to the 2018 - 2019 Brush High School Code of Conduct & the Brush High School attendance policy Mandatory attendance at commencement rehearsal on Wednesday, May 22, 2019. All students must ride the school buses to and from the rehearsal and to the graduation ceremony The designated school cap and gown must be ordered from Jostens and worn for the graduation ceremony Only cords, sashes, etc. designated by the school may be worn or carried We thank you in advance for you attention to these guidelines and your cooperation on May 22, 2019! 4 10-29-2018 NOVEMBER 2018 November 12th – November 30th Diploma Name Check Diplomas are printed as your name appears in our system. However, you may stop in the principal’s office to see Mrs. Sanford to verify your name. You may also email Mrs. Sanford at [email protected] . You have the option to add or delete your middle initial or middle name for the printing of your diploma. The deadline to check or email your name preference is Friday, November 30th !!! o PLEASE BE ADVISED…IF YOU DO NOT EMAIL OR SEE MRS. SANFORD BY 11/30/2018, YOUR DIPLOMA WILL BE PRINTED WITH YOUR NAME JUST AS IT IS REFLECTED IN OUR SYSTEM!!! November 15th Financial Aid Night II will be held at 6:00 pm in the Library. (Thursday) November 19th Fall Senior Class Meeting will be held at 8:10 am in the PAC. Important information for ALL seniors will be shared regarding graduation and commencement. Jostens will be on hand with information to order cap & gown and graduation announcements. Souvenir packets will be distributed. Financial Aid Night III will be held at 6:00 pm in the Library. (Monday) Scholarships and College Visits take place throughout the year. Pay close attention to announcements and read your email from Ms. Myers, your school counselor. All scholarships are posted in Naviance. If you have any concerns please stop and see Ms. Myers or contact her at (216) 691-2139 or email her at [email protected]. November 28th First Day of Cap, Gown & Medallion and Announcement Orders Orders will be taken by our Jostens Representative in the Cafeteria Commons during lunch periods 10:35 a.m. to 12:20 p.m. The fee for Cap, Gown & Medallion is $35.00. Final cost will depend on your order. Please keep in mind that the Cap, Gown & Medallion purchase is refundable.) You may also order online at their website www.jostens.com. February 28th PTSA Sponsors the Senior Prom Fashion Show Rehearsal in the PAC. MARCH 2019 March 1st PTSA Sponsors the Senior Prom Fashion Show in the PAC 7:00 pm. Each Graduate of the Class of 2019 will receive 2 seats on the main floor of the theatre and 4 seats in the either the Mezzanine and/or balcony area.

    Ohio Legislative Service Commission Legislative Budget Office Capital Item Analysis Capital Appropriations (FY 2021-FY 2022) December 15, 2020 Introduction This report is an analysis of the capital appropriations in S.B. 310 of the 133rd General Assembly. S.B. 310 appropriates just under $2.13 billion in new capital appropriations for the biennium ending June 30, 2022, and authorizes about $1.74 billion in new debt. The report contains a number of summary reports which break down S.B. 310's capital appropriations by fund and agency, list all new debt authorizations, list all projects by county, and list only community projects by county. These summary reports are followed by a detailed analysis that provides a description of each capital appropriation. The 133rd General Assembly made additional new capital appropriations in S.B. 4, effective October 13, 2020. S.B. 4 appropriates $555.0 million in new capital appropriations for the biennium ending June 30, 2022, and authorizes $525.0 million in new debt.     Ohio Legislative Service Commission Legislative Budget Office Capital Item Analysis Capital Appropriations (FY 2021-FY 2022) December 17, 2020 Introduction This report is an analysis of the capital appropriations in S.B. 310 of the 133rd General Assembly. S.B. 310 appropriates just under $2.13 billion in new capital appropriations for the biennium ending June 30, 2022, and authorizes about $1.75 billion in new debt. The report contains a number of summary reports which break down S.B. 310's capital appropriations by fund and agency, list all new debt authorizations, list all projects by county, and list only community projects by county. These summary reports are followed by a detailed analysis that provides a description of each capital appropriation. The 133rd General Assembly made additional new capital appropriations in S.B. 4, effective October 13, 2020. S.B. 4 appropriates $555.0 million in new capital appropriations for the biennium ending June 30, 2022, and authorizes $525.0 million in new debt. An analysis of the capital appropriations and new debt authorizations in S.B. 4 may be found in LSC's fiscal note for that bill. Including both S.B. 310 and S.B. 4, the 133rd General Assembly’s capital appropriations for new projects total approximately $2.68 billion. Total new debt authorizations amount to $2.28 billion.
