Art itself and especially poetry is the representation of hope and kaleidoscope meaning of life, today more than ever. Writers (authors) around the world through their spiritual power, dive into the chaos and troubles of human circumstances, bringing light and hope to adjust tomorrow's life visions, which definitely pave another path for the younger generations; always in dispute with the invented realities and always in disagreement with the absurdity of the world toward us. Editor in Chief: Agron Shele (Albania- Belgium) POETS AS PASSING GEESE IN SKIES The mobility of poets has overwhelmingly increased in recent years. The internet made crisscross contacts possible all over the world and poets make frequent and grateful use of it. Nowadays it has therefore become easier to publish poems on international websites, which give them a greater reach and action radius. Like a traffic control tower, publishers and editors search the many lines that are both on the ground and in the air. The requirements poetry should meet, therefore, are strongly fluctuating and more carefully than ever should be looked at chaff and corn; what has quality, content, depth, appearances and what does not. As so many, much more than in the past, are plunging into the turbulent waves of poetry, it is therefore necessary to look at parameters that carefully, meticulously measure if there is enough to approve a poem for publication. It is inevitable that poems sometimes get stuck in sort of diary-like fragments of moods, in which the world of feelings and emotions is almost always paramount, whereas other important characteristics such as language skills, insight into various style figures, exploiting pleonasm, imagery, metamorphoses, surprising contrasts, 9 doublespeak have become subordinate to what should be expressed in a poetic style. We do well to continue to make a distinction, so as not to neglect the power of visual and physical language, to get snowed under. Even though certain images immediately catch the eye and can evoke instant emotion, there will also be serious doubts, like is in painting e.g. about the image of that innocent, young boy's portrait with a tear on his cheek. True poetry never serves man for the sake of convenience. In this anthology you will find poems of high quality, great variation, which deserve to be read and re-read bearing witness to a certain degree of complexity that often cannot be understood immediately. After all, upon re- reading, you will always find different poetry lines, individual words, or images, as an unexpected introduction between the well-known and completely unknown, the unexpected, the specialness,

ABSTRACT In our studies we tried to define the position of Kosovo Turkish Literature as a part of Balkan Turkish Literature subject and we have discovered the place of the magazine called “Çevren” in Balkan Turkish Literature which is published by the “Tan” house of publishing in the capital city of Kosovo Pristina, published from 1973 to 1992. In the additional part we have completed the bibliography of the “Çevren” magazine starting from the 1. to the 92. edition completing the almost 20 year old publishing life. We have separated the card indexes and hatches in two parts. The first part is a clasification of the writers by their alphabetic order, and the second part is clasification of the writers by their genres. iii ÖNSÖZ Balkan Türk Edebiyatının bir parçası olan Kosova Türk Edebiyatı üzerinde yaptığımız bu çalışmamızda, Kosova’nın Priştine kentinde 1973 yılından 1992 yılına kadar “Tan” yayınlarınca yayınlanan “Çevren” dergisinin Balkan Türk Edebiyatlarındaki yerini tespit etmek olmuştur.

1 The Alphabet Board A Collection of Sayings of AVATAR MEHER BABA Compiled by Chris Maier This collection © 2014 by Chris Maier. See pp. 2-4 for further copyright information. 2 Preface Words can clarify or confuse; they’ve always had this dual identity, but in this “Information Age” words have proliferated to such an extent that mankind seems in danger of drowning in a sea of verbiage. Inasmuch as we depend on words, we need those which give meaning to our lives; we need, ideally, words defined by God! And—thank God!—we have them. For although He kept silent for forty-four years, Avatar Meher Baba spoke to us through His alphabet Board, His flying fingers giving the true meaning of everything from Art to Zero—all the while pointing us away from words, towards His silence and the unnamable mystery of His Love. Note: When “you” is referred to in a quote from Meher Baba, it is sometimes a general and at other times a specific “you,” but if the gist of the message seemed generally applicable, it is quoted without indicating who was being addressed. Omissions are noted by ellipsis points (…), paragraph breaks are omitted, editor’s interpolations are enclosed in brackets, and spellings and capitalization are rendered as in the source text: thus, for instance, Baba is sometimes “me” and sometimes “Me,” God is “he” or “He,” and so on. SOURCES The words of Meher Baba are copyright by the Avatar Meher Baba Perpetual Public Charitable Trust (AMBPPCT), Kings Road, Ahmednagar, M.S. 414001, India.

  • Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad: Balkan Borderlands
Fulbright-Hays Group Projects Abroad: Balkan Borderlands Curriculum Project or Presentation Title: Perspectives on War and Survival: Contemporary Bosnian Poetry Author: Brandon Cleworth, Glendale Community College Course or Audience: Higher Education: lower division literature and humanities courses Overview: This curriculum unit is designed to expose students to poetry, specifically, the creation of poetry in the context of war, specifically, the Bosnian Wars of 1992-1996. This unit explores poetry not exclusively as an aesthetic event subject to the standard procedures of explication but as an existential one. Poems are first and foremost expressions of individual consciousness, as each poem tracks closely to a single human voice. Accordingly, the presented poems will be framed as acts of creativity and self-articulation conjured in a context of destruction and the cheapening of human life. Students will be asked to consider the possibilities of poetry as a refuge, and in some cases, what Damir Arsenijević has labeled a “sanity strategy to survive the war” and a symbolic reconfiguring of a collapsed universe.1 The provided lesson introduces students to sources illuminating the general historical and cultural context of the break up the former Yugoslavia, the ethno-nationalism that fueled the particular brutality of the wars in Bosnia, and daily-life during the siege of the Bosnian capital, Sarajevo. Some faculty and instructional contexts might necessitate appreciation and analysis of the poems in their own right; indeed, many approaches to poetry appreciation claim poems are self-contained and provide all the necessary elements for appreciation on their own terms. The curriculum can be adapted to accommodate a more formalist approach.
