INDIAN RAILWAYS SCHEDULE OF DIMENSIONS 1676mm Gauge (BG) REVISED, 2004 SCHEDULE OF DIMENSIONS-1676mm, GAUGE SHEDULE OF DIMENSIONS-1676MM GAUGE Schedule of Dimensions for Indian Railways, 1676mm Gauge Dear Sir/Dear Sirs, With their circular letter No. 735-W. of 1922, the Railway Board issued a Schedule of Maximum, Minimum and Recommended Dimensions to be observed on all 1676mm gauge Railways in India. In that Schedule, certain dimensions of the previous schedule of the year 1913 were modified with the object of permitting the use of enlarged rolling stock. 2. The Schedule of Dimensions of 1922 contained two distinct sections, namely, a schedule of "Maximum and Minimum Dimensions" which was considered to enable the proposed larger vehicles to run with about the same degree of safety as that which was previously obtained on the older Railways with existing stock, and a schedule of "Recommended Dimensions" intended to provide approximately the same clearances from fixed structures for the future larger vehicles as the 1913 schedule gave for existing vehicles. 3. In their circular letter No. 232-Tech.dated the 8th February, 1926, the Railway Board gave instructions that the Recommended Dimensions given in the 1922 Schedule were to be observed on important Railways in all new works and alterations to existing works. These orders were modified in letter No. 232-Tech. of the 26th April, 1926, which allowed a relaxation in the case of certain recommended dimensions, the adoption of which would involve heavy expenditure in remodeling works. 4. In 1929, it was found desirable further to amend the Schedule of 1922 in order to introduce certain improve- ments in the light of experience gained since it was issued, and to provide the clearances required by electric traction equipment on lines which were likely to be electrified in the future. -

Zurich Public Transport, Infrastructure Irchel Tram Depot – Headshunt Redevelopment 27.09.2021 Page 1 Irchel Tram Depot – Headshunt Redevelopment Client Facts Zurich Public Transport, Infrastructure Period 2010 - 2013 Project Country Switzerland Redeveloped headshunt enables Zurich Public Transport (VBZ) to operate its Irchel Tram Depot more efficiently. Difficult and time-consuming shunting tasks are now a thing of the past. Trams with low-floor cars in the middle and trailers (also referred to as “sedan-pony trams”) have been in operation on Line 7 since November 2010. These trams are now to be maintained and housed at the Irchel Tram Depot. The existing headshunt was not long enough to permit the expeditious handling of trams longer than 43 metres. Handling the 45-metre sedan-pony trams on the existing headshunt involved disconnecting the tram cars, shunting them separately into the depot and then reconnecting them – an overly complicated, time consuming and operationally impractical process. In response, Zurich Public Transport (VBZ) initiated an internal process of identifying alternative solutions. These solutions were also expected to take account of the new tram specifications that will apply following Zurich Public Transport’s purchase of a new tram generation (NTG). In October 2010, Zurich Public Transport commissioned EBP to conduct an independent and comprehensive review of the various development proposals it had worked out. The review was also to include an examination of the associated costs and relative merits of the proposed construction measures and their impact on the depot’s immediate vicinity and on railway operation in general. Working in the capacity of a general planner, EBP evaluated the various proposals and used the results of its review to outline the steps that would need to be taken to gain approval for and execute the redevelopment project. -

There are several safety concerns associated with operating passenger and freight trains on shared-use rail corridors (SRC). Adjacent track accident (ATA) is one of the most important concerns. ATA mainly refers to a train accident scenario where a derailed equipment intrudes adjacent tracks, causing operation disturbance and potential subsequent train collisions on the adjacent tracks. Other ATA scenarios include collisions between trains on adjacent tracks (raking), turnouts and railroad crossings. -

Midland Lodge, Sutton Park
MIDLAND LODGE, SUTTON PARK A history of the building with details of its architecture, its association with two well-known tenants and the establishment of Sutton Coldfield’s Vesey Club in 1888. Roy Billingham Midland Lodge is a residential property situated within Sutton Park, designed by William Jenkins, a Birmingham architect, and built in 1880 for the Warden and Society of Sutton Coldfield. Following the Town’s incorporation in 1886, ownership passed to the new Corporation of Sutton Coldfield, and to Birmingham City Council in 1974 after Government reorganisation of local authority boundaries. The site of Midland Lodge (O.S. Grid Ref. SP 1121 9715) is adjacent to the Midland Gate entrance to Sutton Park at the western end of Midland Road which was constructed as a private road by the Midland Railway Company in 1879 to provide direct access for train passengers to and from the Park for their Sutton Park railway station. “New Lodge”, as the cottage was originally called, had several tenants prior to 1886 when Benjamin Stone, Sutton Coldfield’s first Mayor, took over the tenancy in order to meet the necessary residential qualifications to become a burgess of the Town. During his four years as Mayor, 1886-90, the lodge was known as “The Mayor’s Cottage” which he treated as his pied- à-terre, his own home being in Grange Lane, Erdington. After Stone terminated his tenancy in 1891 the cottage was referred to ever afterwards as “Midland Lodge”. The study considers the detailed sequence and scheduling in classification yards and their impacts on yard capacities simulate typical freight railroad terminals, and statistically analyses of the historical and simulated data regarding dwell-time and traffic flows. Approach and Methodology The team developed optimization models to investigate three sequencing decisions are at the areas inspection, hump, and assembly.
