As we celebrate BURP’s September Meeting Anniversary, we see that the seeds planted 25 years ago have produced a harvest that is not only bountiful but BURP 25th Anniversary Crab Feast, also of excellent quality. October - 25th Anniversary Dark Beer Competition Brothers & Sisters in Beer This competition honors the first BURP homebrew By Jamie Langlie, Co-Minister of Culture competition held in April 1983. While the style of that competition was “high gravity ale”, the winning beer was Summer Competition Highlights a stout, and BURP has held a stout competition each year since then. The annual stout competition is now July held in March, so this special anniversary competition The July competition category was German Wheat and will be open to all dark beer styles. Basic guidance is Rye (Category #15) with subcategories (A) that entries must be in style categories that are rated at Weizen/Weissbier, (B) Dunkelweizen, (C) Weizenbock, greater than 20 SRM.
