ARCTIC RIFT COPPER Part of world’s newest metallogenic province: Kiffaanngissuseq Technical Assessment Report Greenfields Exploration Ltd November 2020 This report presents a holistic view of north eastern Greenland’s geology. The empirical evidence of mineralisation and geological record are tied in with mineral system components from global through to prospect scales. The source rocks, geodynamic triggers, pathways, and deposition sites are all identified within a preserved terrane. This work defines the Kiffaanngissuseq metallogenic province, a previously undescribed mineral system. For the first time, we identify a c. 1,250 Ma orogenic event in the basement as the geodynamic trigger related to the basalt- hosted native copper within the Arctic Rift Copper project. A c. 385 Ma fluid migration is identified as the trigger for a second copper-sulphide mineralising event expressed within the project, that also emplaced a distal zinc deposit within Kiffaanngissuseq. This multi-episodal mineral system is supported by a regional geochemical and hydrodynamic framework that is not articulated elsewhere. -

Abstract In order to investigate how Inuit Greenlanders in western Greenland are experiencing, responding to, and thinking about recent allegedly human-induced climate change, this dissertation ethnographically examines the lives of Greenlanders as well as Norse and Danes in the course of past historical natural climate cycles. My emphasis is on human endeavours to cultivate a future in the face of difficulties caused by climatic and environmental transformation. I recognize locals’ initiatives to carve out a future in the promotion of sheep farming and tree-planting in southern Greenland and in adaptation processes of northern Greenlandic hunters to the ever-shifting environment. -

Sagen blev behandlet ved Udvalg for Anlæg og Miljø udvalgsmøde, den 17.april 2020, hvor udval- get godkendte indstillingen og sendte sagen videre til beslutning ved Udvalg for Økonomi og Er- hverv samt Kommunalbestyrelsen. Indstilling Udvalg for Anlæg og Miljø indstiller overfor Udvalg for Økonomi og Erhverv: - at godkende Udvalg for Anlæg og Miljøs indstilling til hvilke anlægsprojekter, som kan sæt- tes i bero, forskydes fra budgetår 2020 til budgetår 2021 eller helt udgår - at sagen sendes videre til endelig beslutning ved Kommunalbestyrelsen Sagsfremstilling Da Grønland og Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq potentielt står overfor en epidemi i form af virussen COVID-19 (Coronavirus), har Forvaltning for Anlæg og Miljø finkæmmet det politisk godkendte an- lægsbudget for indeværende budgetår med henblik på at finde tilgængelige økonomiske ressour- cer fra anlægsprojekter til dækning af eventuelt øgede udgifter i forbindelse med kommunens driftsområder. Som for øvrige anlægsprojekter er ”Bygdeudviklingsplan – Sektorplan” ligeledes gennemgået for at finde besparelsesmuligheder. Det vil i den forbindelse være muligt at udskyde alle de disponerede opgaver for indeværende budgetår på nær nedennævnte, som vil fortsætte uhindret. -

A large programme was initiated to investigate the resources and the markets for water products and to inform potential investors about the opportunities. Investigations into the resources were carried out in 2006 and 2008. These inclu- ded sampling from glaciers, springs and surface water resources, and the results were presented in the form of a comprehensive analytical programme for water and ice samples. -

Renewable energy across the Arctic: Greenland Report EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Greenland has been partly self-supplying with energy since 1993 by help of hydropower plants. The national energy production is increasing, but Greenland still depends on imported oil, primarily gas oil, diesel and petrol. Greenland has firm green ambitions – and potentials – in the energy sector. The Government of Greenland is committed to developing new hydropower plants in five communities and to invest in renewable energy for small, isolated settlements (Government of Greenland, coalition agreement 2016-2018). By pairing large-scale industry with renewable energy, Greenland can take a lead position in sustainable business. A central driver for the Government of Greenland’s commitment to renewable energy is an urge for a self-sustained economy and financial independence from subsidies from Denmark. When replacing imported fossil fuels with national energy production, the Government of Greenland supports the national economy while reducing CO2-emissions. Many communities in Greenland are small, and the grid comprises today 69 decentralized, stand-alone energy systems with no option for the distribution of renewable energy. However, two cities – Qaqortoq and Narsaq - are connected to the same hydro power plant in Qorlortorsuaq. Size matters in Greenland, as the country has an area greater than Mexico and with some communities very remote. The potential for hydropower is far from exhausted. New plants are already further analyzed, developed and in pipeline for five communities: Aasiaat, Qasigiannguit, Maniitsoq, Paamiut and Nanortalik. With more hydropower on the local grids, electric and hybrid cars can replace the use of gasoline and diesel. First- movers have already been out for some years, and more power stations are key to leverage. -

Content of bacteria and aggressive carbon dioxide is not analysed. Quantity The catchment area of Bryggerens elv (2) is 28 km², which gives an 3 annual runoff of 16.2 hm³ (million m³). (Rambøll 2007: 152). Langesø, which is the only reservoir in the area, has a catchment area of 16 km² and an annual runoff of 9.3 hm³. The area of Langesø is 0.75 km², and anticipating an average depth of 5 m the volume will be 3.8 hm³. An even, guaranteed water supply from the reservoir is estimated to 6 hm³/a. In years with high runoff and during summer a much higher runoff from the river "Elven" (The River) (1) is water supply for the marine station Kangilin- nguit (Grønnedal). The annual runoff is calculated to 0.17 hm³ (Rambøll 2007: 150). Infrastructure The rivers are located close to the abandoned naval base Kangilinnguit. 4 The harbour has a quay, 90 m long and with 6.5-11 m draft. The river serves as water supply for Kangillinguaq. Distance by air from Kangilinnguit heliport to Narsarsuaq int. airport is 144 km. Logistics The harbour is normally open year round, but thin sea ice may occur. -
