The Hellenic Initiative Australia is helping to promote a culture of volunteering, solidarity and active citizenship among school children in Greece through the innovative I Care & Act program.

The Hellenic Initiative Australia has contributed AU$30,000 to the “I Care & Act” (Nοιάζομαι και Δρω) national education program, which is implemented by the Desmos Non Profit Foundation and the Lambrakis Foundation.

Instrumental to Desmos’ vision to inspire giving in everyone, the progressive program is helping to plant the seed of change in the new generation in Greece, encouraging them to become active and engaged citizens.

In the 2017-18 school year, 236 schools in Greece adopted the program into their curriculum, with more than 18,700 students and 1,724 teachers participating in I Care & Act activities and engaging with more than 1,000
