After reaching the pinnacles of their professional careers, PGA stars Fred Couples and Blaine McCallister joined CBS Sports broadcaster Jim Nantz as hosts of the “Three Amigos” Celebrity Golf Tournament, which has endowed a Cougar golf scholarship as part of its charitable contributions. That golf scholarship was FRED COUPLES BLAINE McCALLISTER JIM NANTZ the first athletics scholarship to be endowed at UH. INFORMATION The “Amigos” were roommates at Houston from 1978-81, and played for former UH head coach Dave Williams when the Cougars won four Southwest Conference championships and finished among the Top 10 teams at the NCAA Championships twice. Since completing their collegiate careers, Couples has been named the PGA Tour Player of the Year twice and won 15 PGA Tour events, including the 1992 Masters.
