Penn State’s Accepts Challenge From Ron Jaworski, Will Lead Wounded Warriors vs NFL Alumni In A “Game of Honor”, Tribute-to-Heroes, July 9, at PPL Center

4 Time Champion, Former Nittany Lion, Matt Millen has accepted Ron Jaworski’s challenge to coach the Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team as they will take on Jaws’ NFL Alumni and local Lehigh Valley celebrities and the Allentown & Bethlehem Police Departments at the PPL Center Saturday, July 9, following the AFL Soul-Gladiators game. This marks the third straight year that Jaws’ NFL Alumni have played the WWAFT during the week of July 4th. The WWAFT record currently stands at 14-0, having also defeated NFL teams at the last 5 Super Bowls. The WWAFT is composed of men and women who lost limbs while serving in the Iraq or Afghanistan conflicts.

Matt Millen’s roster will include several local Eastern PA Wounded Warriors including USMC Cpl Dan Lasko of Bethlehem and US Army Staff Sergeants Michael Kacer of Waymart & Scranton’s Earl Granville. Millen will also have the opportunity to coach his son-in-law, West Point & NFL FB, Collin Mooney along with another 15 Wounded Warrior Amputees. Lehigh’s Phil Stambaugh, Pitt’s Matt Lytle and more than a dozen other NFL stars will participate in this game and tribute as well.

Providing “Back-Up” for these (0-14) NFL Alumni will be Congressman Charlie Dent, police officers from the Lehigh Valley and several local media celebrities. “The Allentown PD is honored to have been asked to take part in this tribute. Every member of the WWAFT has sacrificed for our country and it is our privilege to support everything that they represent. I would like to personally encourage the entire Lehigh Valley to come out and join us this Saturday evening at the PPL Center to show these heroes that we do support them.” - Allentown Police Department Chief Keith Morris.
