La Rosa de Tokio para este fin de semana: La radio en la la Provincia de Corrientes
La Rosa de Tokio es un programa dedicado a difundir el apasionante mundo de la radio y del diexismo que se transmite semanalmente desde los estudios de LS11 Radio Provincia de Buenos Aires.
Durante las dos horas de nuestro programa recorreremos la bellísima provincia de Corrientes, ubicada en la Mesopotamia Argentina, conociendo sus emisoras de radio más emblemáticas y representativas como Radio Corrientes, Radio Goya, Radio del Iberá, Radio Guaraní, Radio Nacional Santo Tomé y Radio Gral Madariaga, entre otras.
No se pierda las grabaciones históricas que “ilustrarán” el programa.
LA ROSA DE TOKIO se emite ahora los domingos en su nuevo horario de 16 a 18 LU (19:00 a 21:00 UTC) por los 1270 Khz y en Internet en http://radioprovincia.gba.gob.ar/

Literatura de Radio
En 36.500 días de radio Carlos Ulanovsky recorre con conocimiento de causa y mucho amor el siglo de vida de la radiofonía argentina, en un repaso histórico por el dial que se vale de la voz de sus protagonistas, pero sobre todo de recuerdos y anécdotas, acompañados por un entrañable material fotográfico de archivo de ayer y hoy. Aquí, un adelanto.
“………………………………………A partir de 1940 y durante 22 años (luego el ciclo tuvo otra etapa, hasta avanzada la década del 60) hubo un programa que casi no admitió fisuras, ni provocaba dolores de cabeza, tal vez porque su principal auspiciante en el tiempo fue el analgésico Mejoral. Los Pérez García salía por Radio El Mundo de lunes a viernes, inicialmente escrito por Oscar Luis Massa, más adelante reemplazado por Luis María Grau, quien fue responsable de los guiones por mayor tiempo. Así lo definió el hombre que lo largo de décadas le dió vida esta familia inefable. “Son el compendio de todos nosotros, nuestros vecinos, nuestros amigos, los desconocidos que pasan a nuestro lado. Son esa inmensa mayoría cuyos conflictos, graves o insignificantes, siempre serán importantes para alguien. Para comprenderlos no se necesita otra cosa que haber sabido formar un hogar”, escribió Grau.
Y de este modo caracterizó a los personajes de la historia: “Don Pedro, Doña Clara, Luisa, Raul, Mabel, Tito, el mejor amigo de la familia, Castilla, su esposa Catalina, Cachito… Ellos no saben de crímenes de guerra, ni de problemas sociales o políticos… solo se conmueven ante el drama familiar o ante el problema hondamente humano… Se me podrá reprochar que esto no es la representación cabal de una familia de nuestra época, pero ¿no es mejor que de vez en cuando encontremos gente incontaminada y con una nobleza a toda prueba?”. En los años en que Los Pérez García estuvo en el aire no existían los variados y sofisticados procedimientos de verificación de audiencia como los que existen ahora. Pero, cada tanto, se las arreglaban para comprobar la popularidad y el alcance del programa. Van algunos ejemplos.
El programa se iniciaba con un efecto de teléfono sonando. Atendía rotativamente algún habitante de la casa y a partir de un momento la llamada tenía una dedicatoria que, aunque tenía estirpe de clave neumática, era sencilla de descifrar. Podían decir: “Sí, Mario, el zapatero, está la casa de los Pérez García” o “la abuela Ignacia que se recupera de una intervención” o “Para Coco,hincha de Chacarita”. De inmediato, y por varios días, la o el aludido recibía centenares de confirmaciones. “¡¡¡Te nombraron los Pérez García!!!”. O de preguntas, consultando si, efectivamente, se trataba de ella o de él.
Mabel entró al hogar de Los Pérez García como mucama, pero es forzada, honesta y enemiga de las trapisondas, se ganó de a poco la confianza de sus patrones y, como si fuera poco, enamoró al niño Raúl. Acontecimiento para nada conformista, y que no pocos interpretaron como representativo de las innegables oportunidades de ascenso social que generó el peronismo. A principios de 1955 estos novios anunciaron su próxima boda. El programa planteó, como concurso, una adivinanza: ¿en qué día de septiembre se casarían Mabel y Raúl? Las más de 300 mil cartas que llegaron (y que colmaron una oficina completa de la emisora) fueron una comprobación más de la popularidad del ciclo. Más de 75 mil acertaron en que la fecha sería la del 21 de septiembre, pero solo dos afortunados se quedaron con un gran regalo: 5 mil pesos para cada uno, una fortuna para la época. No fueron pocos los que se privaron de opinar acerca de la inconveniencia de que se casaron dos personas de distinto origen social.
En noviembre de ese mismo año fallece el Actor Martín Zabalúa, el protagonista del jefe de esa familia. Durante más de un mes el de filo y docentes por la emisora fue incesante. Todos llegaban acongojados para ofrecer su pésame por la muerte de don Pedro, a quién consideraban alguien de su propia familia y, de paso, acompañar el sentimiento de adiós Clara. El guionista decidió que el personaje permaneciera en su condición de viuda…………”(extraído de Pagina 12)
NOTICIAS DE RADIO
ARGENTINA
En el marco del aniversario por los 100 años de la radio, el Ente Nacional de Comunicaciones, Enacom, el Ministerio de Educación de la Nación, la Secretaría de Medios y Comunicación Pública y la Secretaría de Tecnologías de la Información y las Comunicaciones (SUBTIC) se reunieron con el objetivo de poner en marcha el programa de Radios Escolares.
La iniciativa tiene como finalidad revitalizar el programa de Radios Escolares en instituciones educativas de todo el país. Para ello, se realizó una reunión virtual entre representantes de los organismos.
Durante la reunión, se acordó realizar mesas de trabajo para dar cuenta tanto del número de escuelas que poseen radios, para volver a ponerlas en funcionamiento, como de la vinculación que los niños, niñas y adolescentes tienen con esos otros saberes que conforman los medios de comunicación.
Se planteó, además, la importancia de potenciar a nuevas radios escolares, ya sea para emisiones externas a la escuela y al público en general o para aquellas que lo hacen hacia adentro de las instituciones. ESPAÑA
La emisora cordobesa ‘Intimidad Radio‘, en el 106.4 del dial y a través de internet, acogerá a partir del próximo mes de septiembre el veterano programa ‘El mundo en nuestra antena’, muy conocido dentro del mundillo de la radio-afición. Este programa empezó a finales de los años 80 y desde entonces no ha parado de emitirse y ser punto de reunión para un ‘hobbie’ que hacía furor entonces entre un sector de la población y que ha ido evolucionando desde aquellas fechas en cuanto surgían nuevas tecnologías. Se emitirá en Córdoba los miércoles a las 22:00 y correrá a cargo de su presentador de siempre, el ecijano Arturo Vera.
‘El mundo en nuestra antena’ empezó su andadura en 1988 en la comunidad valenciana, y dentro de dos emisoras del grupo Rato que posteriormente se convertirían en Onda Cero. Se trataba de Radio Cristal y Radio Sagunto. Poco a poco el programa incluso se extendió a otros países. Por ejemplo en Venezuela lo emite una emisora de onda media y también se puede oír en Miami, Estados Unidos. Internet por supuesto multiplicó los puntos de escucha mediante webs de descarga o podcast. Por ejemplo aquellos que estén interesados pueden acudir a la página de la Unión de Radioaficionados Españoles o bien a Radio Intereconomía. Sus pilares fundamentales son, como decimos, el mundo de la radio-afición, la banda ancha ciudadana o la tecnología (uno de los puntos fuertes de la radio-afición).
Como explica Arturo Vera, el programa recala ahora en la cordobesa ‘Intimidad radio’ precisamente porque su director, Quino Ceular, es un gran radio-aficionado, y de hecho la propia emisora le presta una gran atención a este tema desde siempre. El propio Ceular es colaborador a su vez del veterano programa, que es el mismo para todos los lugares en los que se emite.
La radio-afición tuvo gran predicamento en los 70 y 80, incluso corría la leyenda de que el rey Juan Carlos I era radio-aficionado (igual que motorista en la carretera que socorría a los accidentados). Con la irrupción de internet tuvo desde principios de los dos mil ya una enorme competencia por la inmediatez y variedad de otras posibilidades.
Pero el radio-aficionado es muy aficionado, casi se diría que superaficionado, y aunque sean menos que antaño Vera ve en un complemento en la red. “Por ejemplo, tú con un walkie en estos momentos y a través del DMR puedes hablar con un ciudadano de Holanda o Nueva York, ya que se complementan la transmisión por aire e internet”.,
Gracias a esa conexión con la red, Vera cree que también se puede introducir a gente joven, y sobre todo gracias a lo que define como “el cacharreo”, es decir, todo lo que implica el manejo y funcionamiento del equipo de radio, sea base o walkie. “Puedes además interconectarlo con un PC, y por ahí pueden llegar nuevos radioaficionados”.
Arturo Vera se inició en la radioafición de una manera muy curiosa, y se diría que casi cómica. Estaba reparando una radio, pues tenía un taller de reparación, y de pronto oyó a un radioaficionado de Cádiz y a otro de Bilbao. Ni corto ni perezoso, y tras obtener el teléfono del gaditano, se presentó un fin de semana en su casa sin avisarle, de sopetón, tal era su interés.
Además para este locutor y presentador “lo importante al final es contactar con gente que no conoces y llegar a conocerla, como decimos nosotros, verticalmente o bigote a bigote”. En ese sentido, para Vera la radiafición “es el primer chat que hubo”.
De esta manera se va ampliando la programación de ‘Intimidad radio’, la única emisora puramente local que opera en la actualidad en Córdoba. (Córdoba Hoy)
EUROPA
Un nuevo informe de la Unión Europea de Radiodifusión (UER/EBU) demuestra la importancia de las noticias para los medios de comunicación de servicio público, con empresas públicas de toda Europa que invierten más de 5.500 millones de euros al año en la producción de noticias y asuntos de actualidad, y que emplean directamente a más de40.000 periodistas.
Las cifras producidas para el servicio público y las noticias también muestran que en los canales de televisión públicos, las noticias son el género más prominente con más de 400.000 horas de programación anual, lo que equivale a seis horas diarias y al 26% de todas las horas de programación televisiva acumuladas.
En la radio, hay más de 500.000 horas de noticias y asuntos de actualidad por año, lo que equivale a siete horas de programación por día, lo que equivale a una quinta parte de todo el tiempo de radio en los medios públicos.
Además, los medios públicos han desarrollado ofertas complementarias de noticias online, con el 95% operando sitios web de noticias dedicadas y el 58% proporcionando aplicaciones de noticias. Esta inversión se dirige específicamente a las necesidades y hábitos del público joven, con servicios de noticias en línea para niños ofrecidos por el 41% de los medios y para jóvenes por el 34%. En general, las noticias representan el 28% de los gastos de programación y la inversión sigue creciendo: 29 organizaciones públicas de 25 mercados mostraron un aumento del 1,6% de los gastos de programación de noticias entre 2018 y 2019.
La confianza en las noticias de los broadcasters públicos aumenta en tiempos de crisis, ya que las audiencias buscan información precisa y verificable. En marzo de 2020, las emisoras públicas respondieron ofreciendo boletines de noticias adicionales y ampliados sobre el Coronavirus, así como programas dedicados a temas de actualidad y programas de entrevistas.
En el mismo período de tiempo, la cuota de audiencia diaria de los boletines de noticias vespertinos de PSM aumentó un 20% en comparación con el mismo período del año pasado. Para los jóvenes, el aumento fue aún más significativo con un impresionante +44% de participación diaria para los jóvenes de 15 a 24 años.
David Fernández Quijada, Jefe del Servicio de Inteligencia de Medios de la UER, asegura que «estas nuevas cifras demuestran que los medios públicos constituyes la mayor sala de redacción de Europa en términos de programación de noticias dedicadas y del número de periodistas empleados. Su impacto especialmente en el contexto de COVID-19 es crucial, ya que hemos visto un aumento de la demanda de la audiencia de información confiable, precisa y verificada. Estas cifras en sí mismas constituyen un sólido argumento a favor de la legitimidad de los medios de comunicación de servicio público y su valioso papel como elemento crucial para fomentar la ciudadanía política y cultural».

MEXICO
Es necesario realizar actividades y acciones en los medios de comunicación públicos y comerciales, para que las lenguas y las culturas indígenas tengan un espacio de igualdad con el español, coincidieron especialistas y hablantes de idiomas originarios, durante el conversatorio “Por un cambio de narrativa, la inclusión y no discriminación en los medios”, que se efectuó en la Feria de las lenguas Indígenas Nacionales (FLIN).
La FLIN, que por primera vez se realiza en formato a distancia, a través de la plataforma “Contigo en la distancia”, tiene por objetivo analizar el mundo del cómic en lenguas indígenas, promover la creatividad de los hablantes e impulsar y fortalecer la producción cultural comunitaria, mediante el diálogo y el intercambio de experiencias.
En el conversatorio participaron Grecia Mariel Gutiérrez Lara, hablante de maya, licenciada en Negocios Internacionales por la Universidad del Caribe y pasante de la Maestría en Comunicación de la Ciencia y la Cultura por el Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Occidente (ITESO), de Guadalajara, Jalisco; Victoriano de la Cruz, lingüista, traductor, interprete certificado y hablante de náhuatl; Beatriz Adriana Pérez Cadena licenciada en Comunicación Intercultural por la Universidad Intercultural de Chiapas y hablante de tsotsil y Juan Antonio Méndez Rodríguez, estudiante de cine documental y hablante de tsotsil. La moderadora fue Débora Iturbe Vargas, comunicóloga, periodista e investigadora.
El panel online tuvo el objetivo de reflexionar acerca de la forma en que los medios de comunicación difunden contenidos en lenguas originarias y todos estuvieron de acuerdo en que se necesita un mayor compromiso en las estaciones de radio comerciales para incrementar la presencia de los idiomas originarios.
Los especialistas, con experiencia en estaciones de radio, señalaron también que las comunidades indígenas tienen derecho a recibir información en su propia lengua materna y no sólo en español.
Gutiérrez Lara destacó que hay personas que trabajan en medios de comunicación y que se autoadscriben como indígenas, pero que desvirtúan la información de las comunidades.
Por su parte, Victoriano de la Cruz indicó que en los programas de radio en los que participa, transmitidos por Jalisco Radio, hay muy buena aceptación de los contenidos que manejan, 95% del tiempo en lengua náhuatl, por lo que convocó a los radioescuchas a seguir hablando su lengua materna y demandó mayor tiempo para la transmisión de este tipo de programas.
A su vez, Pérez Cadena destacó la importancia del uso de la radio, dado el alcance que tienen sus transmisiones, y así poder llegar a las comunidades más alejadas.
En tanto, Méndez Rodríguez, quien se ha dedicado la mayor parte de su trabajo a realizar trabajos audiovisuales, dijo que se debe impulsar el tener mayores espacios en las radios comerciales para difundir información de culturas indígenas, que desde hace mucho tiempo han sufrido discriminación y exclusión. La Feria de las Lenguas Indígenas Nacionales (FLIN) 2020 es organizada por la Secretaría de Cultura federal, a través del Instituto Nacional de Lenguas Indígenas (INALI), por primera vez en formato a distancia; inició el pasado 9 de agosto, en el marco del Día Internacional de los Pueblos Indígenas.

PERU Las emisoras de los vicariatos del Perú transmiten un programa informativo semanal, en coordinación con el CAAAP y la REPAM-Perú. Es un esfuerzo conjunto para que las voces de la Amazonía y de sus pueblos sean escuchadas.
Escucharse y comprenderse, a través de la pantalla del ordenador, fue el punto de partida. Aquella tarde, desde Iquitos, Oraldo Reátegui narraba con voz entrecortada cómo llevaba varias semanas sin poder hacer, propiamente, trabajo de prensa. La radio del vicariato de Iquitos, La Voz de la Selva era, más que nunca, el altavoz de los más vulnerables, que buscaban desesperados a familiares que se habían quedado varados en la ciudad y a los que muchas veces ubicaban solamente en un listado de fallecidos. Pero la radio también era el rincón donde miles de oyentes, en la ciudad y en los ríos, encontraban explicación a muchas de las preguntas e interrogantes sobre la COVID-19 que casi nadie, tampoco Oraldo, tenía claras.
Y esa era su ‘chamba’ (trabajo), aprender contrarreloj para informar lo mejor posible. Desde Yurimaguas, Jaén, Quillabamba, Sepahua y Puerto Maldonado el resto de directores de las emisoras radiales de los vicariatos de la selva le escuchaban con atención. La experiencia de Iquitos no era más que lo que, se podía anticipar, llegaría tarde o temprano a todos esos lugares. Y al final de todo, una conclusión: tenemos que unirnos.
Fruto de ese intercambio de experiencias, nacía el 19 de mayo el programa radial ‘Amazonía en Red’. Una hora de información que suena, cada martes, en las emisoras de los vicariatos de la selva peruana bajo la presentación ‘Somos Iglesia. Somos Información. Somos Amazonía en Red, la Iglesia Amazónica Peruana unida, a una sola voz’. Asimismo, ‘Amazonía en Red’ también es transmitido en simultáneo a través de Facebook Live. Los vicariatos del Perú son ocho: Iquitos, Pucalpa, Requena, San Francisco Javier, San José del Amazonas, Puerto Maldonado, San Ramón y Yurimaguas.
Si bien la coordinación del programa está a cargo de Beatriz García, comunicadora del Centro Amazónico de Antropología y Aplicación Práctica (CAAAP) y de la Red Eclesial Panamazónica (REPAM) en Perú, este no sería posible sin los aportes recibidos cada semana desde las emisoras radiales que pertenecen a las jurisdicciones eclesiásticas de la selva. “Esas voces son las que enriquecen el espacio y nos permiten brindar una panorámica semanal bastante completa de cómo está la situación en la Amazonía”, explica la coordinadora quien, además, destaca que las emisoras de la red cuentan con notable prestigio y credibilidad en sus ámbitos respectivos.
Las radios que integran esta red son La Voz de la Selva, Radio Ucamara y Radio Oriente, en Iquitos, Nauta y Yurimaguas (región Loreto); Radio Marañón, en Jaén (Cajamarca); en Santa María de Nieva (Amazonas); Radio San Antonio y Radio Sepahua, en la región Ucayali; Radio Quillabamba, en La Convención (Cusco) y Radio Madre de Dios (en Puerto Maldonado). Además, el programa se completa con informaciones relacionadas con la Amazonía y los pueblos indígenas que son elaboradas desde el propio Centro Amazónico de Antropología y Aplicación Práctica (CAAAP).

Nos gustaría anunciar dos nuevos operadores en el equipo JX, Erwann LB1QI y Allan EA3HSO !!
¡Estamos felices de tener a dos nuevos miembros a bordo! Al mismo tiempo, lamentamos que Mats RM2D haya tenido que retirarse por motivos personales. A medida que avancemos, pronto ampliaremos el equipo a 6 operadores que completarán el equipo JX. ¡Con 6 operadores y 4 estaciones funcionando, esto dará aún más QSO!
También estamos trabajando duro en el contrato del barco y todavía estamos negociando los detalles. No hace falta decir que este contrato es extremadamente importante para nosotros no solo financieramente sino también logísticamente y para el resultado de la DXped.
Durante la última semana se nos extendió nuestro permiso para permanecer en Jan Mayen a 14 días en el período de mediados de septiembre hasta mediados de octubre. Las fechas finales dentro de ese período se determinarán más tarde, sabiendo que llegar tan tarde está en el límite de tiempo. Ningún equipo o barco de alguna DXpedición ha llegado a Jan Mayen en invierno, incluso muy raramente en septiembre. Según las autoridades, ningún equipo podrá entrar en la isla durante el invierno, lo que significa que la única oportunidad de hacer un viaje de una DXped para bandas bajas, es durante el período seleccionado.
Si bien estamos muy contentos con el apoyo de todos los clubes y fundaciones con 19.000 USD hasta ahora, todavía tenemos un largo camino por recorrer. El éxito de esta expedición dependerá del apoyo que recibamos de la comunidad DX. Si bien muchos DXers tienen preocupaciones relacionadas con Covid-19, no habrá DXpedición sin soporte. Además, si el viaje se cancela debido a Covid-19, estaremos cubiertos contractualmente por este motivo.
La decisión final de ir, dependerá del nivel del apoyo de la comunidad DX.

La razón por la que no puedo unirme a mis amigos en JX, es simplemente que desde el 1 de septiembre de 2020, fui designado para un puesto global en la empresa para la que trabajo.
Es simplemente imposible en ese rol de administración estar sin Internet, correo electrónico, teléfono celular, etc. durante tres semanas seguidas. Septiembre / octubre también es un período muy ocupado en el proceso de presupuesto. No es posible estar en una isla ártica remota con solo onda corta y CW como único medio de comunicación.
Nada más emocionante e intrigante que eso, si alguien buscaba chismes jugosos. Espero ir con estos simpáticos tipos en otra expedición cuando el tiempo lo permita.

Hasta la fecha ha habido 27 volcanes potencialmente activos en Ecuador, incluidos los de las Islas Galápagos. De estos, siete continentales (Cayambe, Reventador, Pichincha, Cotopaxi, Tungurahua, Sangay, Potrerillos-Chacana) y siete de Galápagos (Marchena, Cerro Azul, Fernandina, Santo Tomás, Alcedo, Darwin, Wolf) han tenido erupciones durante épocas que la historia, es decir, desde 1532. Nuestros volcanes activos son permanentemente observados y monitoreados a través de tecnologías de datos, imagen y video en tiempo real. CONCEPTOS PRINCIPALES ------La propagacion es el fenomeno provocado por la ionosfera, la cual permite la recepcion de señales, gracias a la refraccion que esta produce. La ionosfera esta formada por varias capas, llamadas D, E, F1 y F2.
La capa E esta situada a 96 kilometros de altura, y es la que envia la mayoria de las señales de onda corta. Las capas F1 y F2 estan localizadas a mucha mas altura, 160 y 320 kilometros respectivamente, y trabaja mejor en las frecuencias superiores de la region de onda corta.
La capa D es la mas cercana a la tierra, situada cerca de 80 kilometros de altura.
En lugar de reflejar señales detras de la tierra sobre el horizonte, la capa D trabaja contra nosotros absorbiendo señales de radio en el borde inferior de bandas de onda corta de modo que estas llegan demasiado debiles a alcanzar la capa E.
Pero la capa D desaparece rapidamente de noche, de modo que las mas bajas frecuencias sobreviven mas rapidamente durante las horas de la noche, y de esta forma actua la capa E.
Si la frecuencia es demasiado alta, la onda no se refracta para volver a la tierra suficientemente.
Se llama frecuencia maxima utilizable MUF a aquella en la que es factible su propagacion entre dos puntos de la tierra.
Sin embargo, debido a la gran variabilidad que existe en la densidad del electron de la region de F2, las MUFs no son limites absolutos, y pueden darse excepciones al calculo.
Las señales que lleguen a la capa F2 deben atravesar la region de la capa E de la ionosfera. La capa E tambien es capaz de "reflejar" las señales de HF, y si el MUF de la capa E es demasiado alto, las señales que quieran alcanzar la capa F son bloqueadas por la capa E. Este fenomeno es llamado ECOF; es decir las frecuencias por debajo del ECOF no atravesaran la capa E. Las señales pueden propagarse entre dos puntos de la tierra via capa E de la misma manera que cuando lo hacen via capa F2, pero la distancia de tierra maxima del
salto de la capa E es solo aproximadamente de 2000 Km.
PARAMETROS DE MEDICION ------La propagacion se mide con diversos procedimientos y parametros (unidades) de los que podemos mencionar:
FLUJO SOLAR: se refiere a la cantidad de manchas (llamaradas) solares emitidas por el Sol en la banda de 10.7 cm (2800 Mhz) y se relaciona estrechamente a la cantidad de radiacion ultravioleta que se necesita para crear un nivel adecuado para la ionosfera (responsable de la refraccion de las ondas de radio), tomado en SSN (Sunspot Number) y Flux como unidades.
INDICES A y K: se refiere a los indices de actividad geomagneticas por ejemplo tormentas solares que influyen negativamente en la propagacion de las ondas de radio.
Indices (K: mayores de 5) o (A: mayores de 20) indican condiciones de tormenta solares con un campo de actividad geomagnetica activo por lo que no es bueno para la escucha.
Cuanto mas activo es mas inestable la propagacion con posibles periodos de propagacion cerrada por lo que lo mejor que podemos hacer es apagar el receptor.

Por consiguiente un alto Indice A, es indicativo de mas ruido y absorcion donde las altas frecuencias son afectadas primero y luego las bandas bajas.
Un indice A menor que 7 es bueno, en terminos de condiciones promedio.
Los indices K son leidos en intervalos de 3 horas, indicando la actividad actual.
Aurora: este nivel es actualizado cada dia con el paso del satelite polar NOAA-12 POES de donde se extraen los valores.
Se refiere a los dx´s en niveles polares.
En sintesis:
Altos Indices A y K : condiciones negativas para la escucha.
Niveles de Aurora indican condiciones polares (muy buena para VHF y buena para HF si el valor es bajo.

This will present a problem for frequency-order editors, who have got to have some kHz to hang it on; even tho this obs of no signals heard is no less significant than when some are. Original CP in August 1946 was for 840, but changed by November to 780. In 1949, a Special Service Authorization to operate from 6 am to 7:30 pm CST --- was denied. In 1950 they tried for dual-frequency operation, switching to 790 at night with 500 watts direxional, but that was dismissed. In 1953 applied to move to 1490 unlimited hours, but later withdrew. On 9-30-69 there was a telegram about a ``PSA`` at 250 watts to protect WBBM. Does that mean pre-sunrise, post-sunset, or both?? And is that the basis for starting by 6 am now? No ID breaks are built-in to the Overcomer feed, but 0459 seems to cut away, maybe local ID but uncopyable. 0500 Fox `News` but can`t be certain same station.

** U S A. 1370, still no sign of KGNO Dodge City KS. I need a better excuse to drive all the way to DC to investigate.
Following up: consulting Tim Hall`s Final Report of last October`s Border Inn NV/UT DXpedition, I see among hundreds of logs including several on 1370, there is none of KGNO, so I wrote him, ``I was looking to see whether you got KGNO Dodge City KS, which I suspect of being secretly off the air.`` Tim replies:
``KGNO was a regular catch at this location until at least 3 or 4 years ago (I don't recall exactly), but I haven't had a trace of them since, despite the fact that the channel is less crowded after some of the Mexican stations went off. I also suspect KGNO is off... or maybe just in extreme disrepair? Same with KLEY-1130, a station whose travails you have documented in recent years. I think the same can be said for some of the HPRN stations in Texas/Oklahoma/New Mexico. [High Plains Radio Network] has been consolidating operations for several years now, running the same programming on groups of 2 or 3 stations that used to have their own formats and staffs. I've been especially suspicious of KICA-980 [Clovis NM], which I have never heard, even on optimal sunset/sunrise dates/times, and even when KCLV-1240 and KSEL-1450 [Portales NM] have been nightly catches. Also in last October's recordings, I had no trace of KVOP-1090 [Plainview TX] at all, and they are usually a bit of a pest on several wires. HPRN has almost no web presence at this point, just a basic skeleton of a web site for all of their stations on one page. In contrast to the general state of HPRN stations, little KTAT-1570 [Frederick OK, eluding gh] was a nightly catch this year. They didn't put as big a dent in XERF as little KDDD-800 [Dumas TX] puts in XEROK, but there were several clear IDs audible in my recordings.`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

At this time too much splash from 780 KSPI music to get 774, but earlier at 1139 on the PL-880 while checking KSPI, could detect 774 and looping NW = Japan. NORTH AMERICA. 5060v, Sept 4 at 0035 while monitoring WBCQ, I see a note on the ODXA iog, from John Hudak, Dundas, ON, ``Pirate station WDOG is on 5060 kHz USB right now as I write this - 0027 UT Sept. 5, 2020 (8:27 p.m. EDT Fri. Sept. 4). Fairly good signal, playing various rock and pop songs. Frequent ID's between songs and sound of dog barking.``
So I switch one of the Rochester SDRs to 5060 and there it is with rock music? More like noise and I don`t really recognize any musix or barx. Synch indicates frequency fluxuating 5060.7 to 5061.6; still there past 0119 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** OKLAHOMA. Re 780 KSPI having a 1969y ``PSA`` from FCC, and what does it stand for? Bob Biermann, FL, explains on the WOR iog: ``In FCC jargon, PSA means presunrise authority, which is generally 500 watts, though sometimes less, beginning at 6:AM local time. PPSA is partial presunrise authority. An example of PPSA would be protecting a station toward east until sunrise at the protected station's location. ** SPAIN. 9690, Fri Sept 4 at 2200 when REE should be in M/W/F English, only dead air of S9+10/20. Also open carrier on 11940. 2203 checking at UTwente, 9690 open carrier with heavy ACI from 9685 Chinese music; 11940 & 11670 & 12030 all with dead air except for some rapid clicking which is more audible on each if offtuned 1 or 2 kHz from center carriers ---- and not heard elsewhere on bands so I conclude that is coming out of the Noblejas transmitters rather than QRM or something local at the SDR. Recheck here a sesquihour later at 2333, 11940 & 9690 are still on unmodulated, the latter registering S9+20/30 of wastage. A few days ago someone enquired whether REE English had been canceled but I can`t find it now; nor had I been checking every alternate weekday. ** U S A. 7490.1 & 6159.9 & 5130: UT Sat Sept 5 at 0000, I start monitoring `AAAWWW` on WBCQ direct. On 7490 the g.h. who thinx he`s later on 9625 from WINB is closing late, so WBCQ ID and WTO overlaps mixing with him. 5130 joins WTO slightly later. 6160 which has been in `Old Tyme Radio` at 0001 is playing hi-pitched IS, and other music; 0002 still not WTO, nor at 0004. 7490 is quite noisy, so I move to its webcast, but miss a minute or two of what`s being said.
1) Angela is beautiful; 2) lamenting a friend, Jim, who has died, not clear of what, accident? Later mentions last name Lerner, a visiting radio/TV engineer. At 0010 says ``6160 is not on`` --- well, it has been but not with this show; he thinx ``stupid remote control shut it off at 8 o`clock``. 5130 & 7490 are also on. It`s been bad week, besides losing Jim, personnel problems. 0013 says 6160 is back up, and gets into politix/religitix, denouncing Pelosi et al. repeatedly as ``dickheads``. 0019 pause and says there has just been a power outage; thinx his yelling axually blew 5130 & 6160 off the air by overmodulating! Puts on music fill to go out and restart them. I quickly check Rochester SDR and indeed 5 & 6 are off while 7 is still on.
0023 says 6160 is back on, but not 5130 which has 15-year-old tubes needing replacing. May have to move all 5130 programming to 6160, which was retubed a year ago. PA final tubes can be very expensive, a TH576 for the 500 kW transmitter is available new from Thalès for $189K, as he just priced it; weighs 135 lb, more than Angela`s 105, water-cooled. A rebuilt one would cost only $100K. Why charge so much? Not that complicated; because they can, as only source. For a 50 kW transmitter would cost only $10K, an ACX35000; or $6-7K rebuilt. Wishes someone would donate enough $$ to fix them up.
Brother Stair provides some income, but ``is not paying a quarter of what he should be``, likewise other clients. 0029 into COVID-19; 0030 interrupted by a call, tells them to call back in an hour. Resumes also mentioning FRSH, but balks at reading frequencies to 3 decimal places as I reported. 0057.5 mentions WHRI acquisition is still in transition period. ``Tonight's show started on time on 7490 and 5130. 6160 was carrying music. Allan and Angela in the studio. Allan opens with how much he loves looking at Angela. Then into news of a friend of everyone at the station who had fallen from a radio tower, not at WBCQ. Allan mentioned that he was in the process of rebuilding transmitter number one and had been for a month now. Allan announced that 6160 wasn't running and it was probably a computer problem. Then he announced that it was now up and running the program. Then stated that if any BLM group tried to shut down the station they would be met with guns. Back to his friend, he said it was a shame that he had to die when there were so many other people in this country that should die instead. Then a very mini rant about Biden, Pelosi, Cortez and a few others.
At 0018, 5130 went down and I retuned to 7490 in time to hear Allan announce that both 5130 and 6160 had gone down hard. He put some music on and went out to see if he could get them going. Allan was back at 0022 saying that 6160 was back up but 5130 was hopeless and probably needed to be retubed and that they may have to move 5130 programming to 6160. Said he would work on it late and make a decision then. He said all the tubes needed to be replaced and he was throwing around prices of a hundred thousand to a hundred and ninety thousand per tube. He mentioned that the programmers at the station should be paying three times more for airtime than they were now on the classic WBCQ. He asked for someone to send him a couple million dollars so he could fix all the transmitters.
Then on to obesity and the epidemic of overeating in this country and how it contributed to Covid deaths. Then into general food talk. Phone call at 0043 from Canada with a gentleman suggesting that the station add a program about vegan foods. Allan and Angela thought it was a great idea. Another phone call at 0048 asking for verification of the tube prices that Allan mentioned earlier and asked if the tubes included a warranty.
Reading of emails at 0050 starting with a reading of the Free Radio Weekly. Third email was the newest version of the Free Radio Weekly and he read through that one also. Another mention about buying WHRI and how wonderful it would be and how important to preserve all these radio stations but no real information about it. Colorado Rockies, and they *do* have a 730, KLOE Goodland KS, one of our closest 730s, so that makes sense; it`s 292 miles vs 257 from KKDA TX Korean. ** PERU [and non]. 4940, UT Sunday Sept 6 at 0100, via TWR Bonaire KiwiSDR, good signal in Spanish drama, first YL speaking, then dialog and also narration, music. Het from carrier on 4941 cuts on and off occasionally; evitable by downtuning to 4938 in AM Narrow mode. 0107 gives website www.lamontanacolombia.com and song; 0111 starts religious talk about La Fe, etc.
[Chasing this I have to forego what I planned to hear during the 01-02 UT Sunday hour, `Encore` on WRMI 5850, having remembered to check 4940 first; but will have another chance 25 hours later on 9455; and WRMI grid shows a new airing UT Thursdays at 0300 on 5800, which I guess is a repeat but could be a prepeat.]
I keep hoping for an ID break on 4940 but none between shows starting and ending at odd times, nor circa hourtops. Could this be a new Colombian SW station as implied by the following From Rafael Rodríguez, Colombia? English version:

Attached screenshot shows something on 4940.041 kHz, at 0242 UT Sept 5, without further explanation --- it so happens that I had an unID unlogged carrier on 4940 circa 0500? Sept 5. Along with the VOA Africans on 4930 & 4960. Onlything in Aoki is the old R. San Antonio, Perú. It seems to be missing most of the time but occasionally reported, with a Christian format.
Back to the present Sept 6: at 0117, clips of ``I had a dream`` and ``sieg heil`` to intro next show, `Lecciones de la Historia` about Babylon citing bible verses.
At 0120 I check my own R75 reception on 4940: JBA carrier, but the intermittent carrier on 4941 is stronger. At 0136, Bonaire in synch mode tuned to 4940.00 says its carrier -1.6 Hz, and steady. At 0142 het cuts on again as Lecciones show is terminating; music break; 0146 bible verse about Jeová, another song. 0152 intros a 20-minute program. I suspend for a while at 0200-0300 in order to hear `Weekend Radio` on WCLV webcast. 0300 recheck, 4940 is still S9 at Bonaire with a song. 0325 I check again here, and now it`s JBA talk at S9/+10 vs HSNL. Recheck Bonaire at 0345, now it`s JBA there, so much weaker it should be some other station after sign-off, but none are known.

The film came out a few years ago. Possibly they were playing excerpt from its soundtrack. Stendals are a familiar name, as the plot seems like the life story of a missionary relative of theirs, Martin Stendal, was the force behind the still dormant Voz de tu Conciencia 6010 and Alcaraván Radio 5910, but which are still slated for revival, and in fact 6010 as Alcaraván was heard for one? night only as I reported, last March 10 UT. No report of either frequency since. Rafael Rodríguez had some contact with the stations as QSL manager.
However, Radio San Antonio, Ucayali, Perú has been reported recently active on 4940, so tentatively that is what we are getting now, not Colombia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jW9jooaoxlw As received Aug 14, 2020 in Lima on 4940, ID right at the start.
As for the ethnicradio website RRR referenced, there is nothing about the current matter, only one item from this year, in June, about R. Confirmed UT Mon Sept 7 at 0130 & 0230, WRMI 7780 good S9+15 via UTwente; at 0130 also WRN webcast; at 0230 also good on WRMI 5800.
Also confirmed UT Mon Sept 7 starting at 0306.4 on Area 51 via WBCQ 5130, S8 at Rochester SDR; delayed so Larry & Jane Will could insert a bit from their `Lumpy Gravy` show last night, now when it would get additional attention: Larry refers to the Kook-Watch he has been publishing via the WOR iog, and something more he heard Sat Sept 5 at 1447 UT on WWCR 7490: `Remnant Ministry` calling for Bill Gates to be executed! This goes beyond the bounds of Free Speech. Same show is carried by WBCQ 7490 Mondays at 5 pm EDT; if Larry ever hears anything like that again on WBCQ, he threatens to terminate the station`s webcasting service which he is paying for. Resultantly, WOR lasted until 0335.4.
WOR 2050 also confirmed UT Mon Sept 7 at 0330 on WRMI 9955: not making it to Bonaire SDR or others in Caribbean, S America, nor Rochester. But the superior one in Maine is getting it well, S7-S8, with lite pulse jamming which seems to surge when WRMI fades. But it`s even better here direct, S9/+10 with no jamming audible. Next:

All this via UTwente at S9+20 with constant plus/minus 10 splash no matter what the bandwidth; but the 7291 RTTY warble is not heard.

** U S A. 7490.06, Monday Sept 7 at 2317, WBCQ playing African music; o yes, UB announces Timbuktu, Mali, so this is a bonus broadcast of UBMP, 25 hours after the original which I already heard Sunday at 2200. This has happened before, but I don`t think UB has mentioned it, as cannot be relied upon. Sked shows Available Time Slot at 2300 Mondays but for only a semihour, so did `Camp Constitution Radio` interrupt it at 2330? Anyhow it`s back to Bill after 0000 UT Tuesday for FTIOM in its regular slot, by now VG S9/+10.
(7490), UT Tue Sept 8 at 0213 tune-in to Uncle Bill`s Labor Day special `WBCQ Works` presenting his and other programs; for this at the computer I have switched to webcast, which lately has been slow-starting, but Larry has not terminated it yet. Now in ``Old Time Religion`` gospel tune with parody lyrix, but I could not understand the new title. Then some Weird Al, ``Dog Eat Dog``; 0223 over to Sir Jack Scratchy of `Behaviour Night`; 0234 `Lost Discs Radio Show`. Each plugs WBCQ and the times their shows are mainly heard. 0245 cosmikdebris reverb and Jane but I don`t hear a program name, 0258 UB wrapping up offering special eQSL for reports to a gmail address I missed. ** VIETNAM [non]. 7315, Sept 8 at 0015, 0033 chex, VOV is still missing from WHRI relay when it should be in English, Spanish, so has it been totally canceled? WHRI itself is still programming on 5920 at 0022; and by 0212 on 7315. I want to see what program sked now shows, https://familybroadcastingcorporation.com/whr/ but website won`t display them any more, unless I am being misdirected to wrong pages, where you may only search schedules if you enter all the data correctly --- but they go nowhere. The streaming page of Angels 1, 2 and 6 is also dead. Maybe they are winding down for the big sale to WBCQ?

UNIDENTIFIED. 4940, Sept 8 at 0105, JBA signal at Bonaire TWR SDR, and at 0337 JBA carrier; like last night, unlike Saturday night = UT Sunday when Spanish gospel with no IDs was inbooming there. Bryan Clark was also hearing it in NZ, and discussed with Mauno Ritola, noting Colombian content, so related to LV Conciencia? But no IDs either. They make no mention of R San Antonio, Peru, which as I pointed out was active in August on 4940. Seems to me that Fuerza de Paz would either be using the Peruvian or got it to agree to cede the frequency. Bryan`s Sept 7:
``The apparently new South American on 4939.996 gave reasonable reception here around 0630 to 0715 UTC today - I noted it weakly around 0530 and followed it past 0800 but the clearest signal was around 0645 when they had some form of radio drama. It didn`t seem overtly religious in nature and the Latin rhythms heard later weren't reminiscent of an evangelical broadcaster to my ears anyway.
Have attached an audio file in case you can hear something that clearly identifies the station, so would welcome any feedback. Mailing addresses in Costa Rica and Bolivia are given.
