LOUGHTON FOODBANK is part of the national Plaque scheme seeded by The Trussell Trust, a Christian charity aiming to empower communities and working to combat poverty and exclusion. It can provide 3 days equivalent of emergency food to support those who find themselves in crisis. Loughton Foodbank is facilitated by St Mary’s and Restore Community churches, and sponsored by the town council. It partners with frontline care professionals who identify local people in crisis and authorise a food voucher. The voucher can be redeemed for an emergency food parcel at one of the open sessions.
