• My Derby by Richard Killoran
My Derby by Richard Killoran Mongol Derby 2012 Monday 6th Checking in at Heathrow's Terminal 5, just after about 9am. The queue is full of Russian athletes heading home after their Olympics. 4 years of their hard work put to the test in the matter of minutes or for some, seconds. We have our own goal which we are about to embark on, it wasn’t 4 years of preparing for it though I doubt even 4 weeks! The idea was hatched in the cold wintery months, when I got a notion (I get a lot!). After watching a friend of mine, Guy Disney whose leg was blown off in Afghanistan, was going to the North Pole with fellow injured soldiers. Walking With The Wounded aired on BBC and inspired me. Why don’t I do something challenging, I asked myself? I knew Richard Dunwoody had gone to the South Pole and he had done some pretty wacky stuff, so I googled him. Racing, South Pole, 1000 mile consecutive walk in Newmarket, Strictly Come Dancing, Mongol Derby... It caught my attention, so after googling and YouTube’s of the Mongol Derby I was sold. So I rang Richard, asked him a few questions, I think the last question I asked him was “Do you think I’m mad?” To which he replied “No, not at all!” But then again I was asking probably the maddest person I’ve ever spoken to! Right, I was in but there was no way I was going on my own. After a long scan through my contacts in my phone I choose one.

It can enmesh worse than netting of steel, and curse flesh with fire. Emotion consumes, dictates every movement, lays bare vulnerability and exposes raw hearts. Life on knife-edge of sheer captivation, when started, can really excite. It enlightens each thought, yet passion betokens control, it demands more stimultation that often bewilders the soul. Chasing the dream requires taking a hold of the skirt of reality and flirting with something akin to voluntary insanity. It can rattle sensations like a canine shaking a bone. • IRS Vs. Menaechmi.Pdf
Internal Revenue Service vs. Menaechmi Will Owen comedy * Introductory Information Internal Revenue Service vs. Menaechmi is a comedy. It reprises what is for sure the oldest living playplot out there -- that of Plautus' Menaechmi and Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors. As in The Comedy of Errors, this re-use of that old plotstory also hinges on the confusion generated by two sets of identical twins. Concept: On the one hand, this is a straightforward, full-length play -- the script for the playing of straight-on theater-show that is very full-length, focused on sustained, bravura acting -- and funny. On the other hand, this script is also an experiment in a hybrid form: fusing television mini-series and performance video- documentary. That is, this script can be divided and tailored for presentation as a handful of episodes for serial viewing, produced as theater before a live audience but for video documentation aimed at synching with the ever-growing way (particularly true in the world of opera and ballet) that more and more people are experiencing, albeit at no-longer-live second-hand, theaterworks through screen devices. Somewhat counter-intuitively, the technology that is most transforming nearly all the traditional performance arts is that of those ever more high-performance pixelscreens, their equally high- performance sound systems, and the global, digital distribution capability of the many different kinds of streaming platforms. Indeed, recent decades have seen the development of new sub-genre of filmmaking, that of videoworks aimed at ever- more-effectively recording stage performances for presentation on digitally-driven screens of one kind or another -- from the tennis- court size HD-projection screens of large movie theaters to the playing-card size lightboxes that our tele...phones are now.
