3777 5/16 Project Status A study of alignment alternatives for this segment was completed in summer 2015 and preliminary engineering and environmental clearance under the Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) were completed in June 2017. Final design is underway. The objective of this project is to develop a trail that serves the travel needs of people walking and riding bikes, protects the river and its sensitive habitat, and avoids impacts to the ongoing operation of the golf course.

Project Funding Alternative analysis studies are funded by a grant from the California State Coastal Conservancy

Existing trail along Carlton Oaks golf course and the TransNet Active Transportation Program administered by SANDAG. This segment is part of the $200 million Regional Bike Plan Early Action Program approved by the SANDAG Board of Directors in September 2013. Final design is funded through TransNet, the regional half-cent sales tax for transportation administered by SANDAG. Construction funds have not been identified at this time.
