Alberto began practicing family law at Gulf Coast Legal Services defending indigent victims of domestic violence. While at Mason Black & Caballero, PA, Alberto earned his Board Certification in Marital and Family Law – a professional milestone in which he took great pride. He opened Alberto Romero, PA in 2011. Alberto passed away in early Janu- ary 2015. He is survived by his longtime partner, Jeremy Bowers, his father, and extended family, all of whom he loved dearly. Colleagues remember Alberto for his positive disposition and professionalism. Friends re- member him for his zest for life, most notably expressed by his passion for family, laughter, and world travel. Not only has the Section lost a respected member, but the world has lost a generous and vibrant soul. The Sec- tion's heartfelt thoughts and deepest sympathies are with Alberto's family. Comments from the Co-Chairs of Publication Committee One of our favorite things about chairing this committee is intro- duction, by way of fabulous articles, to our many attorneys in the Family Law Section. This edition of The Commentator is no excep- tion and is chock full of great information, analysis, tidbits, hot tips, and great ways to approach
