Kid’s Cove At Grand Casino Closing Bohlman, Inc. has provided child care services through Kids Cove at Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Grand Casino Hinckley. This week, we were made aware that Bohlman, Inc. has chosen to no longer offer their services to Grand Casinos. Therefore, the last day of operation for Kids Cove at Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Grand Casino Hinckley will be Sunday, August 5, 2018. Grand Casino Mille Lacs and Grand Casino Hinckley are looking to find a new solution for child care services on property. We all know how important guest service is to our Guests and Associates. That is why it is very important for all of our Associates to participate in the upcoming ATC Guest Service Champion Workshops, to brush up on our skills and remember why Grand Casino is best known for our hospitality and service. It’s a competitive market out there and we want to make sure we are staying at the top of our game, living up to our Guests expectations as industry leaders in service and friendliness. The goal is to raise the bar, delivering not just expected service, but exceptional service to our Guests; the kind of service that has Guests telling their family and friends about us. As a result of this training, you will walk away with a renewed sense of service and create a personal promise to your Guests and Team. If we work together as a team, we can make a consistent and significant impact on our GuestNet scores, Guest and Associate Experiences, and Guest Loyalty. This is a mandatory training created to benefit ALL Associates; let’s get the most we can out of this investment. This is not only for our teams that are working with our Guests face-to-face, but for our Heart of the House Associates as well. The impact that Heart of the House Associates can have with each other, our internal Guests, is just as important as the impact Front of the House has with our Guests that are here to game, eat, and have fun. Important Information • Associates must sign up in advance and actively participate in one 2-hour paid session from now through September 14, 2018. • Associates not in attendance for their registered / scheduled session will result in a NCNS (4 occurrences per policy). • A sign up book with a variety of dates and session times is located on the table under the plasmas, near the Associate entrance. • Each session requires a 20 person minimum, not to exceed 30 maximum. If we do not have enough participants signed up 48 hours in advance, sessions will be cancelled. • Associates may contact Learning and Development for questions regarding the training. Please communicate and promote this initiative in your pre-shift meetings, on your bulletin boards, and anywhere else appropriate for reaching all Associates! We need all of our leaders and Associates on board to make this a successful initiative. Despite my wife having a newborn and our two other kids, she allowed me to go for a nostalgic 80s guys night out. It was surprising that this buddy wanted to go as this was not his type of 80s metal (he likes the harder stuff), but I was not going to pass up seeing Dokken. Despite my misgivings about using the train (and my general hatred of it because it’s tax payer susidized), I used the train to get to Amos’s. Short 20 minute ride and I was there. The opening band was Hair Nation from Charlotte – an 80s cover band. They started with some late 80s stuff but finally got to the mid-80s stuff. They played Poison, Skid Row, Guns & Roses ( I hated that), Quiet Riot, Ratt and Van Halen. I joked that the gutiarist was probably around 5 years old when these songs were hot, but he was the only one sporting a legitimate metal head mullet! 1 / 3 Dokken came on and he seemed a bit mellow. Grant it, this was not the arena he was used to back in the 80s like at Monster’s of Rock (1988) when I saw them first, but it is not the 80s anymore. He just seemed less energetic and ready to entertain than I was used to seeing him.
