Request for Proposal Non-Profit Organization Projects - 2013 Organization: Columbus Early Learning Centers Name: Maggie Spangler Title: Executive Director Address: 40 N. Grubb St. City, State, Zip: Columbus, Ohio 43215 Phone: 614-224-9284, ext. 15 Email: [email protected] Organizational Mission: Doing what it takes to deliver the best early childhood education and family support services so every child succeeds in school and in life. Our centers serve children in three of the poorest and highest crime areas of our city – Franklinton, Weinland Park and the King-Lincoln Bronzeville District. Our children face a large achievement gap even before they reach kindergarten. High quality early childhood education provided by CELC bridges that gap and places our children on a level playing field with their more affluent peers. Proposed Project Title: Relocation of Columbus Early Learning Centers - Westside Proposed Project Summary/Scope of Work: (Please detail the specific need that your organization has or the outcomes desired from a project that can be successfully completed by a volunteer team.) Columbus Early Learning Centers has four facilities, three over 100 years old. Recently our Board made the decision to relocate our centers within our current neighborhoods rather than continue with our rapidly aging facilities. Our Westside center, located just off Broad St. in Franklinton, has the most urgent needs and we are currently researching relocation possibilities for this center. For this project to be successful we will: thoroughly research existing buildings as well as potential sites for new builds; explore partnerships with existing businesses in the area; develop strategies for engaging potential funding sources; create a relocation plan. Project Deadline Requirements: The CELC Board has set a deadline for relocation of December 31, 2013. .
