CONSTITUTION OF

PURDUE ANIMATION, COMIC, AND GAME ASSOCIATION

ARTICLE I Name and Governance

The name of this organization shall be the Purdue Animation, Comic, and Game Association (PACGA).

ARTICLE II Mission Statement

The purpose of PACGA is to provide Asian-subculture-based services and events (primarily Japanese , comic and game relevant) to Purdue students, so as to promote multicultural understanding and exchange, as well as providing a social platform for the enlarging group of people sharing the same interests to communicate in Purdue University. For this purpose, PACGA shall develop a comfortable and interest-professional environment for Purdue students to immerse in, to communicate, to enhance friendship and to enrich their student life. PACGA is to distinguish from Purdue (PAC) by different preference and concentration on Japanese sub-culture. PACGA encourages students to participate interest-based activities involving personal skills, by which students enhance personal abilities through meaningful activities as well. Activities, apart from the usual events, may be, but not limited to, Wota Dance, collective (costume play) show to enhance friendship and cultural understanding, Anime band and instruments learning for those who love ACG music, and study of drawing, game design and programming technique.

ARTICLE III Definition of Membership

A. Eligibility of Advisor a. Non-student member of the organization, with all rights and privileges therein, except for the right to vote or hold office. b. Advisor is covered under the University’s general liability policy when advisor is participating in student organization events. B. Eligibility of Volunteer a. Member of the organization, with the purpose of helping the organization with the events and advertising. b. Be requested to be listed in the PACGA E-mail list. c. Membership and participation are free from discrimination based on race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin or ancestry, marital status, parental status, sexual orientation, disability, or status as a disabled or Vietnam-era veteran. C. Eligibility of Member a. Member of the organization, holding the membership cards. b. Be recommended to be listed in the PACGA E-mail list. c. Membership and participation are free from discrimination based on race, religion, color, sex, age, national origin or ancestry, marital status, parental status, sexual orientation, disability, or status as a disabled or Vietnam-era veteran.

ARTICLE IV Duties of Officers A. Coordinators a. Leaders of department, be elected by all officers. b. Be requested to attend the weekly meeting. c. Be responsible for the officers of the department. B. Treasurer a. Collect and Deposit all funds. b. Retrieve all petty cash and the cash box for all fundraisers and collaborating events. c. Keep a detailed record of all receipts. C. General Officers a. Be interviewed by the coordinator of the department and the president. b. Be requested to attend the weekly meeting.

ARTICLE V Amendments

This constitution may be amended by the president with an affirmative vote of a majority of the officers voting at any regular meeting of PACGA. All amendments to the constitution are subject to approval by the Office of the Dean of Students.
