I do not know to what Parish my Father belonged, his name was Simon Trevena, he was a Carpenter – formerly residing at Gorran and removed from thence to Ponsanooth where I was born as I believe – I never was an Apprentice nor did I ever hire myself as a Servant to any person nor live or reside with any one in that capacity but I have always gained my livelihood & subsistence by working in various places as a miner I married my first wife Grace Williams Widow at Gluvias about 15 or 16 years ago I lived with her about six years partly in Ponsanooth and partly in Perranarworthal we had two children Eleanor now aged about 14 or 15 years born I believe in Stithians and Martha aged about 13 years born in Gluvias they are now under the care of my brother John Trevena Carpenter and my Sister Mary who has lately married. my said brother and sister now reside or lately resided at Ponsanooth aforesaid At the end of six years I removed to St Blazey where I remained a short time and from thence came to Lostwithiel. I left my Wife at Ponsanooth; and about two years after, she died and as I was informed was buried in the Parish of Perranarworthal. About 3½ years ago I married Jane Barrett Widow at Brixham in the County of Devon, by her I had two children Mary Ann aged about 3 years born at Brixham in Devon and Stephen aged about 1½ born at Lanlivery in Cornwall. I never rented a tenement of the yearly value of ten pounds nor as I believe did I ever do any act to gain a Settlement for myself Sworn the day and Stephen Trevena (signed) year before written before us John Bower (signed) Rd.
