Daily​ Expectations…

By God’s grace…Jesus Christ came into the midst of my darkness when I, ______, could do nothing to save myself. In Jesus Christ, I see the Triune, relational God of love fulfilling his eternal plan to adopt me into his family. Jesus is the greatest treasure in all of life. And every day is an opportunity to know, experience, and express God's glorious love found in and through Jesus Christ. God is most glorified and honored in my life as I find my greatest satisfaction in all that he is for me in Christ Jesus. And so today, I am looking to Jesus. I expect to abide in Christ, to talk with him, to listen and obey his Word, and to live a life of love.

I am loved by my Father in heaven more than I can understand. The Father’s love is the non-stop, infinite Niagra that is always directed toward me and covering me. There is no success so high or failure so low that can separate me from His love. And so, I love God with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. I am a wholehearted lover of the Lord Jesus Christ. I have been born again and now I live by His life in me. I will fellowship with the Lord and continually practice His presence.

I am destined to be conformed to the image of Christ I am focused on Christ. I desire Christ and to become like Christ. I expect to find my identity, acceptance, significance, security, forgiveness, and freedom in Christ. I expect my character, thoughts, and actions to reflect Him. I am a man of integrity and purity. I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. He is Lord of my family, my ministry, my relationships, my money and my time. For me, my very life means Christ.

I am filled and empowered by God’s Spirit and I expect to keep on, continually being filled with His Spirit—resulting in a life of worship, thanksgiving, daily submission, and lasting spiritual fruit. I expect God’s power to be released in my life for salvation, healing, deliverance, and hope. I expect to see the fruit of the Spirit growing and the gifts of the Spirit operating in my life.

I am filled with faith and hope in God. The promises of the Bible are very real to me. I expect to receive light from God’s Word today. I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength! Therefore, I am positive and enthusiastic. I am excited about what God has done in the past and will do in the future. I am grateful for the many opportunities life presents. My life is a sign-post, creatively pointing to the reality of Jesus, His kingdom, and the new heavens and new earth…the way things should and will be!

By God’s grace, I am an overcomer. I expect to grow through every trial knowing that God will give me the grace to persevere. I expect to finish the race strong. I expect to see answered prayer. I expect to see God’s Kingdom come. I am victorious over Satan because Christ is victorious over Satan—and I am in Christ!

I am committed to learning and growing. I expect to be aggressive in worship, prayer, seeking and saving the lost, unity, and fighting the good fight of faith.

I expect to see the church grow and multiply. I expect my life to make a difference for the cause of Christ. I expect to serve God’s purpose in my generation. And finally, I will live knowing the brevity of this life and I will live with eyes that are filled with eternity. All this I will do only by God’s grace and to His glory!
