The new play equipment is suitable for tots to teens, whilst other improvements include a skate area, multi-use games area as well as new tree and shrub planting, footpaths and boundary fences. The small car park at Derek Avenue, next to the recreation ground, has also been improved. The project was made possible through funding of £170,000 from IM Properties, which owns the nearby Birch Coppice Business Park, £30,000 from the North Warwickshire LEADER Programme and £92,000 from the Borough Council. The Mayor of North Warwickshire for 2013/14, Councillor Dominic Ferro and Kevin Ashfield, Senior Development Director at IM Properties marked the occasion by cutting the ribbon for the new recreation ground.
