General Management of water resources is vital to the holistic development of the State due to the growing drinking water needs and industrialisation, in addition to the needs of fisheries, environmental flows and community uses. Taking into account the limited availability of water and increasing demand for various uses, the need for creating new irrigation facilities at feasible locations and modernising, improving and rehabilitating the existing irrigation infrastructure assumes great importance. The Government is continuously striving to improve the service delivery of the irrigation system and to increase the productivity, through improving the water use efficiency, participation of farmers in operation and maintenance, canal automation, benchmarking studies and performance evaluation studies and building the capacity of Water Resources Department officials and farmers. In addition, the Government is taking up various schemes, viz., Rivers Inter-linking schemes, Artificial Recharge Schemes, Flood Management Programme, Coastal protection works, Restoration of Traditional water bodies, Augmenting drinking water supply, etc., to harness, develop and effectively utilise the seasonal flood flows occurring over a short period of time during monsoon. 1 2.0. Schemes Implemented in the Social Welfare
SOCIAL WELFARE AND NUTRITIOUS MEAL PROGRAMME DEPARTMENT CITIZEN’S CHARTER – 2011 CHAPTER - 1 INTRODUCTION The implementation of schemes for the welfare of women, children and aged is done by the Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Programme Department through the Directorates of Social Welfare, Social Defence and the Integrated Child Development Services Scheme. This Department also functions as a nodal agency for various Social Security Programmes implemented through the Revenue Department. 2.The Directorate of Social Welfare implements a number of programmes for the welfare of women including the Marriage Assistance Schemes. The Directorate also runs Service Homes where the destitute and deserted women can stay with security and at the same time, pursue education and vocational training. Working Women‟s Hostels where women can stay at affordable rates are also run by the Directorate of Social Welfare. Training and self-employment of women are thrust areas and the large number of Women Co-operative Societies run by the Directorate provide avenues for women to be self-reliant. The welfare of the vulnerable group of transgenders and programmes specially designed for them are also under the purview of the Directorate of Social Welfare. 3. Two flagship schemes of the Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Programme Department relate to nutrition security for children. Puratchi Thalaivar MGR Nutritious Meal Programme provides hot cooked meal to 54.80 lakh school children from Standard I to X. The Integrated Child Development Services Scheme which is implemented by the Commissioner of Integrated Child Development Services Scheme, is a comprehensive package for children of the age group 0-6 years including supplementary nutrition, hot 1 cooked meal, health care and pre-school education. -

After many years unemployment became a very rare condition because 9 out of 10 or stagnation, because of the well-constructed and executed people were employed and the education level has been drastically infrastructure of the area and also there was uninterrupted improved in the past 20 years. in Tamil cinema north madras and electricity, water & milk facility. this area is also home to one north madras peoples are portrayed in darker way like gangster, of the cities oldest railway stations. as the Chennai city uneducated, drug dealer. thus the film ends up to the audience that continues to expand its boundaries north madras continues to and makes them believe and assume that north madras it is the the place where the city began. same way shown in the film. the researcher in this study aims to find what is the audience impact on the films. -

INTRODUCTION 1. Government of Tamil Nadu has proposed to implement the World Bank supported Tamil Nadu Sustainable Urban Development program (TNSUDP) to improve the delivery of urban services. The provision of Storm Water Drains to selected areas of Corporation of Chennai is one of the sub-projects proposed to be implemented by the Corporation of Chennai (CoC). This component is coordinated by Government of Tamil Nadu with Tamil Nadu Urban Infrastructure Financial Services Ltd. (TNUIFSL), Chennai as the fund Manager. This sub project is proposed to be implemented along the roadsides and canals and doesn’t involve any Land Acquisition and required land is owned by the Corporation of Chennai. 2. PROJECT DESCRIPTION 2. The Storm Water Drainage project for the selected areas of Corporation of Chennai proposed to be taken up under the TNSUDP involves construction of storm water drains and canals in the project area. This sub project proposed to be implemented in the 4 Zones of the CoC. The total length of the drains to be constructed is about 270.33 kilometres including the 11.05 km length in the canals. -

In spite of the district’s top-notch status in terms of high educational, human development index and humungous industrial productivity, given its geography, climate and certain other socio-political attributes, the district administration and its people have to co-exist with the probabilities of hazards like floods, cyclone, Tsunami, drought, heat wave, lightning and chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear emergencies. The Disastrous events in the recent past like the Tsunami of 2004, the catastrophic floods of year 2015, the cyclone of year 2016 and most recently the COVID-19 pandemic, will serve as a testament to the district’s vulnerability to such hazards. How the society responds to such vagaries of nature decides the magnitude and intensity of the destruction that may entail hazardous events. It is against this back drop, the roll of the District Disaster Management Authority can be ideally understood. The change in perspective from a relief- based approach to a more holistic disaster management approach has already begun to gain currency among the policy makers due to its substantial success in efficient handling of recent disasters across the globe. The need of the hour, therefore, is a comprehensive disaster management plan which is participative and people-friendly with the component of inter- departmental co-ordination at its crux. -
