The beat comprises trout fishing, with some large fish to 16″, also with grayling. Good mayfly hatches in June but can be prone to low flows. Fished well last year despite the dry summer with nearly 50 trout to 12″ and grayling to 8″+ River Tamar, Boyton Bridge An open and easy to fish stretch of the middle Tamar owned by Launceston Anglers Association. Bedrock dominates the middle of the beat with gravely pools and runs above and below. Brown trout fishing with some large fish to 16 with good mayfly hatches but prone to low flows and coloured water following spates. Lightly fished last year but still produced a fish of 12″. River Torridge, Woodford This is a lovely trout beat which can provide excellent trout fishing in the spring and early summer with fish to 15″, look out for good mayfly hatches. River Torridge, Gortleigh There are a number of good pools and runs with a nice mixture of open water and more challenging fishing. It usually proves popular with Passport regulars and last season saw a number of large brown trout and even a few sea trout in the low water conditions experienced. Can also be a good spot to see Kingfishers and Otters. .
