Volume 6, Issue 11 Page 4 Greg McLean Greg McLean, trumpeter, composer and arranger, born in Shreveport, LA, but grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. He received a Bachelors Degree in Music Education (1979) from Georgia State University, Masters of Music (1982) in music composition Florida State University. McLean also studied composition and Jazz at the University of North Texas (1985-86). Greg has performed with a variety of groups both Classical and Jazz and leads his own Greg McLean Jazz Trio/Quartet. He plays with various Jazz bands, variety bands, orchestras and brass groups in the Atlanta area. Currently, Greg is Associate Professor of Music at Georgia Perimeter College where he directs the GPC Jazz Ensemble, directs the Jazz lab band and, teaches courses in music appreciation, Jazz history, composition, music theory and trumpet.
