2021 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP Golf News Champion Bobby Eggimann March presented us with beautiful Spring weather which made for some great golf. P.J. Penrose and Eric Lanctot won the 2nd Annual Irish Open with a better ball net score of 63. They won the score card Daily Winners playoff over Steve DiGennaro and Walt Peseckas and the team of Wes Reynolds and Eric Rolanski. February 21st P.J. Penrose Zach Throckmorton Congratulations to Bobby Eggimann on winning our Club Championship! Bobby won 3 + 2 over Mark Infalt in the 36 hole final. Mark went 1 up on the second hole and stayed there through the first Mark Infalt nine holes. Bobby squared the match on 10 then went on to a 4 up advantage after eighteen. They Kyle Barlow fought to the finish on the back nine, but Eggimann would birdie hole 16 for the winning margin of 3+ Bobby Eggimann 2. A congratulations goes out to both players on a fantastic match! Bryan Reynolds won 1 up over Philip McDonough Phil Powell to win the first Flight. Chad Seufert won 5 + 4 over Robert Kidd in the second Flight. Walt Steve Zaffuto Peseckas won 5 + 4 over Ric Visintine to win the Gold/White Flight. Mike George won 1 up over Mike Robson David Rouse to win the B Fold Flight and Rennie Law won 2 + 1 over Jim Ina to win the A Gold Flight. February 27th P.J. Penrose Toni Herting won the Women’s Club Championship with a two total of 170. She had to play one extra hole as Jackie Keller came from behind to tie. On the first playoff hole, Jackie put her approach Mark Infalt in the right bunker and had a difficult downhill tie on the back side. Toni left her approach just short Bobby Eggimann left chipped up and two putted for five. Jackie would leave her first shot in the bunker, but almost Mike Robson holed her second shot that left her an eight footer to tie. She would just miss, giving Toni her first Club Championship. Congratulations Ladies for a game well played! February 28th Mark Infalt Bobby Eggimann Mike Barkley was the winner of The Senior Club Championship shooting 1 under over the two days of play. Dave Mann was the 1st Gross Winner 55 to 64, Kent Whittemore won 1st Gross of 65 March 6th Bobby Eggimann + A, Steve DiGennaro 1st Gross 65 +B, and Jim Malnar as the Golf 1st Gross Winner. Congrats gentleman on a job well done. Sundowners begins this month on Thursdays. SPCC ASSISTANT TENNIS Who helped push your game to the next level? When I was 12 years old, we moved to Florida PROFESSIONAL full time and devoted our time to tennis. I trained with Coach Goran Dragicevic. My brother and I are close in age so we were able Evan to train and practice together all of the time. Holvoet Where did you play while in school? How long have you been playing tennis, and how many years have you been teaching? I've actually been playing tennis for 20 years of my life, and I have been teaching for approximately 10 years.

Who introduced you to the sport? I was really raised around the game. My mom Jill (Patterson) Holvoet was a professional player so I've been on the court since I was a baby. She had a great career even playing a Wimbledon qualifier, but

eventually taught full time for 30 years in Indiana and now at The Vinoy. My brother Miles now teaches as well. This exposure from a young age from my family was key.
