In 2015 INSOL Europe is indeed fortunate to have been invited Co-Chairs to hold its Eastern European Countries’ Committee conference Carlos Mack (EECC) in Vilnius, Lithuania. This follows a very successful 2014 (Studio Legale one-day conference held in Prague and attended by delegates from Trabucchi, all over Europe. The theme of this year’s conference is to be ‘Banks' Germany) Insolvencies, Investors and Harmonisation: A new insolvency era?’ Radu Lotrean and will include sessions and case studies with expert panelists and (CITR Romania) speakers from a wide range of disciplines taking part and it is hoped this will create some lively debates on the issues to be covered, relevant to today’s evolving situation. Evert Verwey The City of Vilnius was first mentioned in written sources in the (CMS, Netherlands) early fourteenth century and was the flourishing capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania which, at its height, covered the territory not only of Lithuania but also parts of modern day Belarus, Ukraine, Poland and Russia. Today, Vilnius is a thriving modern city and the major economic centre of the country and one of the largest financial centres of the Baltic States. Industries centred on the city include advanced solar and laser technology and biotechnological manufacturing supplying products into the global market. All this is making it one of the wealthiest cities in Eastern Europe. It also claims to have some of the highest internet speeds in the world. We very much look forward to welcoming you at this conference and hope that you will not only benefit from the business sessions but also from the considerable networking opportunities including the optional networking dinner on the day before the conference.
