This is a series that I've been meaning to read for some time now, as with both Batman and Superman being two of my most favourite characters, as well as the fact that I've loved Jeph Loeb's work on both Superman Batman: Public Enemies Volume 1 it has been something that I've always wanted to try. Having also loved the Superman Batman: Public Enemies Volume 1 films based on the first two volumes of this series I also wanted to see how close they were to their source materi He sends a team of heroes after him to arrest him for his crimes. Jeph Loeb did an excellent job McGuinness' art is superb throughout. Loeb's writing, though a bit uneven, keeps us moving through the story. Unable and unwilling to go up out of the grave for fear of another Metallo attack, Batman uses an explosive charge to free them from the grave. They end up in the Sewers and work. While they argue, a boom tube opens and an older version Superman appears in the cave and attacks them. During the confrontation, older Superman explains that he is the future version of Superman there to stop him from doing something that will result in him killing everyone he knows and ending up alone. Batman confirms that the doppelganger is in fact telling the truth and rushes to get the kryptonite ring. Future Superman attacks Batman and throws him into Superman Batman: Public Enemies Volume 1 of the Superman Batman: Public Enemies Volume 1 and then threatens to drop the car on him. Superman fires Metallo's bullet from a shotgun at Future Superman. He disappears with a warning "Beware once again requests to talk to Superman, which Luthor denies.
