India currently operates 21 reactors that can generate 5,780 MW of electricity besides giving India its atomic weapons. India hopes to generate 63,000 MW of nuclear power by 2032. UNESCO Khangchendzonga National Park (KNP) in Sikkim named First Indian world heritage site to qualify in Mixed Category ­ Both Natural and Cultural. Archaeological site of Nalanda Mahavihara (Nalanda University) in Bihar. Capitol Complex in Chandigarh also made it to the list, thus bringing all three nominations this session into the heritage roll of honour. This is first time that any country got three sites inscribed in the Word Heritage List at a single session of the committee meeting India now has 35 sites, including 27 cultural properties, seven natural sites and one mixed site, notified as World Heritage Sites. Other UNESCO world heritage sites declared during same session ­ Ani (Turkey), Qanat (Iran), Artificial islets of Nan Madol (Micronesia), Stecci Sites (Bosnia, central and western Montenegro, southern Croatia and western Serbia), Ancient Philippi (Spain), Antequera Dolmens (Spain), Gorhams Cave Complex (Britain). Turkish musician Kudsi Erguner was appointed as the UNESCO Artist for Peace by the Director­General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova. Besides, United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) also listed Swiss­French architect Le Corbusiers works among its World Heritage Sites list. Le Corbusier's works were added in list in recognition of his contribution in modern architectural movement after World War I. His 17 sites across spread across seven countries France, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, Argentina, Japan and India have been added in the World Heritage Sites list. 4th Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival held in Guwahati (Assam). This festival pays homage to rich culture of northeast India and is dedicated to film fraternity of region. 6th Indian Languages Festivals (ILF)­ Samanvay 2016 will be held in New Delhi in November 2016 with theme Language as Public Action. 7­day long Kharchi Puja festival started at Chaturdas Devta Temple in Old Agartala (Tripura). In this century old festival of Tripura, Puja is offered to head­images of 14 God and Goddesses, that are bought outside only during first week of Shukla Paksha of Ashad of Bengali calendar year. A Garden Waste Management Unit (GWMU) inaugurated in President’s Estate in Delhi, as part of advancing Swachh Bharat Mission. GWMU will process green waste such as fallen leaves, pruned plant material, cut grass and litter into organic compost. Government will provide interest subvention of 5% per annum to all farmers for short term crop loan up to 1 year for loan upto 3 lakhs rupees for 2016­17. Thus, farmers will have to effectively pay only 4% as interest. In case they fail to repay loan in time they would be eligible for interest subvention of 2% as against 5% available above. Government abolished existing "Separate Guidelines for establishing Joint Venture Companies by Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs)", that were notified in February 2012. Guidelines issued by Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) and Ministry of Finance (MoF) that which are applicable to all Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) will now also be applicable for DPSUs to set up JV companies. Government approved 1600 crore rupees for Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) under skill development initiative "Himayat" programme.

Manohar Lal was speaking after inaugurating the first phase of Geeta Museum built at Gita Gyan Sansthanam Centre built at a cost of Rs. 5 crore in Kurukshetra today. Kurukshetra is the holy place from where the immortal teachings and knowledge of Bhagavad Gita was preached which is enlightening the entire world. Sh. Manohar Lal said that just like its name, Gita Gyan Sansthanam,(G.I.E.O) is constantly preaching the immortal teachings and knowledge of Bhagavad Gita to the entire world. “The spiritual gain of Shrimad Bhagwad Gita is not gained only by listening, reading, memorizing, or understanding, infact one gets the real benefit when the essence of this Holy Scripture is imbibed in one’s life,” said the Chief Minister. Design/methodology/approach: This study uses qualitative approach and deploys a mix of desktop and Hermeneutics analysis to trace out the educational implications with specific reference to ‘Pedagogy’ aspect while seeking perspective from Bhagwad Gita. The national education policy had been studied in detail and tens of research papers on pedagogy aspect along with a deeper study of Bhagwad Gita were studied to seek a perspective on pedagogy aspect of NEP-2020. Findings: The study concludes that the philosophy of the Bhagavad Gita has great potential to address the some of the crucial aspects of NEP-2020 especially the Pedagogy, which in itself is the most crucial deciding factor in the successful implementation of the NEP-2020. Thus, the success in implementation of NEP-2020 will depend on many factors including the pedagogy used by teachers who have to actually implement the policy at the ground level.

On the sacred banks of river Saraswati the epoch ending battle of Mahabharta was fought at the end of Dwaper Yuga. On the eve of this battle the eternal message of Bhagwad gita was delivered by Lord Krishna to Arjuna to wipe out his delusion and despondency. Every year on the 11 th day of bright fortnight of the month of Margshirsha, the birth anniversary of Bhagavadgita is celebrated, which some time falls in the month of November or in December. This year it falls on 30 th November, 2017. The Government of Haryana since last year is celebrating the festival of GITA JAYANTI (anniversary of Srimad Bhagwad Gita) as International Gita Mahotsav in Kurukshetra. Various religious, educational and social organizations from all over India in association with Kurukshetra Development Board, Haryana organizes activities like Gita Path, Yoga Camps, Gita Exhibitions, Book Fair on Gita, Heritage Craft Fair, Mediation Camps, International Gita Seminar and International Cultural Events etc. The Hon’ble President of India has given his kind consent to inaugurate the International Gita Mahotsav this year on 25 th November, 2017. Kurukshetra, the land of this great epic and the land of Gita fascinates historians, researchers, ascetics, tourists and common man alike to visit this place and sense the vibes of the eternal message of Lord Krishna. Bhagavad gita deals with the subtle and recondite details of ethics and metaphysics relating them at the same time to the most fundamental aspirations of man. This is not done by means of any abstract disquisition, but by selecting a specific situation involving a moral dilemma and pointing out how it can be overcome. This concrete mode of treatment has made its appeal universal, which led to numerous commentaries, interpretations and translations in almost all languages of the world. At the outset, Arjuna resolves to renounce the world and withdraw from the battle. He fails to realize that his decision has put the fate of righteousness at stake. At this time of utter confusion, Lord Krishna gives the message of Gita which is of utmost value for this universe. He preaches that one is bound to work for the cause of wider entity to work for no profit to oneself especially when one is in a responsible position. Thus Gita is not restricted in its application to a particular sitution; its message is eternal and for universal welfare leading us not to individuality but to comprehensiveness through a deep sense of duty.

She is a danseuse par excellence who was trained in the famed Raigarh Gharana, which is one of the most sublime forms of Kathak. She is a true ambassador of the pristine art form and has dedicated her life in taking Kathak to glorious heights. Her mesmerising performances have enthralled audiences all across the country. Prestigious dance festivals including the world-renowned Khajuraho Dance Festival in the precincts of Khajuraho Temples in Madhya Pradesh, Bharat Bhavan at Bhopal and National Dance & Music Festival at Sirpur in Chhattisgarh are a few noteworthy mentions. Yasmin was initiated into the art form by Kathak Guru Madhukar Jagtapji of Indore at the tender age of ten. She received her advanced training from the legendary Kathak master Pandit Arjun Mishra of the Lucknow Gharana. Dr. Mandvi Singh trained her later in the finer nuances of Kathak and Mrs.Vaswati Misra helped her hone Bhav Paksha which imparts a distinguishing verve to her performances.
