Meet Andrea BA’17, Faculty of Social Science, current Master’s student in Women’s Studies Andrea recently completed an international internship working with a community partner in East Africa. “Going on a Western Heads East internship to Mwanza, Tanzania was a key experience that has shaped who I am. I collaborated with incredible people and gained skills that allowed me to apply what I’ve learned in the classroom, all while working towards a cause I believe in. Engaging in intercultural learning during my experience in Tanzania and while at Western allowed me to achieve the Global and Intercultural Engagement Honor. Pursuing the Honor gave me a more holistic view of international learning, and as a graduate of International Relations, internationalizing my degree helped me gain perspective and adaptable skills that I’ll have moving forward.”
