Taking part from Oct 29-31, 2015, the 7th German-Russian Young Leaders Conference without any doubt took place in very challenging times for the bilateral relations of the two countries. Nevertheless, over 200 young leaders from spheres such as business, politics, media, science, and culture gathered in the wonderful city of Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, under the motto “Trust in Troubled Times.” For participants and guests of honor present, the conference, hosted with the offi cial support of the Republic of Tatarstan, was an important step towards rebuilding trust between each other. WELCOME DAY (THURSDAY, OCTOBER 29)

After arrivals on Wednesday night, participants gathered for the informal welcome on Thursday morning, which took place in the ballroom of the conference hotel Korston Royal Kazan. Participants were welcomed by Christoph Herzog von Oldenburg, Chairman of the German- Russian Young Leaders Conference, Vladimir Leonov, Minister of Youth Aff airs and Sport of the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as by Prof. Dr. Igor A. Maximtsev, rector of the Saint-Petersburg
