Lloyd was educated in London, Paris and New York and after attending Art School in London went to work as a Photographers Assistant in New York and then in Europe. He began making short films for himself and got a job with “”; The group included Peter Richardson, French and Saunders, Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson. After working on a number of Comic Strip productions he helped create and write a new BBC2 comedy series “Glam Metal Detectives” whose cast included Doon Mackichen (Smack the Pony) and Phil Cornwell (Stella St, Deadringers). Lloyd then worked with Phil MacIntrye (Phoenix Nights, Maybe Baby) and Ben Elton, but returned to run the Comic Strip Ltd, reducing the companyʼs outgoings by 70%, restructuring the finances and creating an original alternative income stream. He was then asked to set up and run a ʻguerillaʼ PR company by Terence Conran for his Storehouse Group. As a director at Paramount Comedy Channel he got to work with Matt Lucas (Little Britain), Paul Kay (Dennis Pennis), Keith Allen (Robin Hood) and make a special anniversary programme with his comedy heroes; Michael Palin, John Cleese, Terry Jones, Terry Gilliam and Eric Idle of Monty Python. Lloyd has collaborated with Stephen Fry and Rowland Rivron on writing projects and for his film “Redemption Road” cast amongst others John Thomson (Fast Show, Cold Feet), Pauline Quirke (Birds of a Feather) and Mark Benton (Early Doors, City Lights). More recently Lloyd has worked with a new generation of comedy talent including Justin Edwards (Perrier Newcomer Winner), Simon Farnaby (Spoons, Mighty Boosh) and Kevin Eldon (Brass Eye, Nighty Night). Inbetween comedy Lloyd has made a number of Documentaries, including Top Banana for Discovery Channel which was screened at SIDF and other festivals and a seven part series for BBC1 and worked with C4. He has shot across the globe from Pakistan to Chile and was based for a period in the Middle East. He has also presented a three hour live talk Radio show and been a ʻculturalʼ contributor for Rowland Rivronʼs LBC show. Lloyd has recently created a web-radio based comedy channel; comedy.fm – which aims to commission around five hundred hours of original comedy a year as well as ʻuser-generatedʼ content and interactive comedy events for both experienced and aspiring comedy writers and performers. He lives in London and Dorset with his partner, ex-Groucho Club MD Mary-lou Sturridge and pair of Greyhounds.
