It contains a general overview of the services that operate to and from Bob Hawke College. Bob Hawke College is approximately a five minute walk from West Leederville Station on the Fremantle Line. Transperth runs two types of bus services via Bob Hawke College: regular Transperth bus routes and dedicated School Special 728. Dedicated School Special As the name suggests, dedicated School Specials are for schools only and can only be caught if you are heading to or from school. They will only pick students up when heading to a school and drop students off when departing a school. To help you plan your journey, this guide contains a map for School Special 728 that travels via Bob Hawke College in the morning. Regular Transperth bus routes There are a number of options to get you to and from Bob Hawke College: Bus routes 28, 85, 96, 97 and School Special 728 all travel there. Trains on the Fremantle Line also stop at West Leederville Station. Planning your journey While this guide will show you where all the services operate, to find out when they operate you will need to plan your journey. The best way to do that is by using the online JourneyPlanner, or download the Transperth app. If you are planning your journey in the school holidays, don’t forget to change the date on the JourneyPlanner to a school day. If you are planning your journey at the start of the year, wait until two weeks before school starts for the most accurate results as we change services at the beginning of each year. 3 Things you need to know Tracking your bus You can use the Transperth app to track your bus or train in real A time and see when it is due to TO arrive. Travelling with a Student SmartRider All high school students are entitled to a Student SmartRider, which gives you access to the student fare when travelling to school. The student fare is available on any trip Monday to Friday during the school year. You can continue to use your Student SmartRider outside of these times, however you will be charged the concession fare. The student fare is only available if you have a Student SmartRider. If you don’t have one or you forget your card you will need to purchase a concession cash ticket. Need a Student SmartRider? SmartRiders are issued by the school at the beginning of the school year. If you need to order a replacement card, just visit smartrider.monitorwa.com.au 4 Getting to Bob Hawke College Route 28 Route 28 travels between Perth Busport and Claremont Station via HBF Stadium To school – Route 28 departs Perth Busport (Departure Zone A) at 8.25am and arrives at Bob Hawke College at approximately 8.40am. From school – Route 28 departs Roberts Rd (Stand 1 - Stop No 28069) outside Bob Hawke College at 3.05pm and arrives at Perth Busport at approximately 3.20pm. Check Timetable 33 for more information. Route 85 Route 85 travels between Perth Busport and Glendalough Station via Cambridge St, Selby St and Herdsman Pde To school – Route 85 departs Glendalough Station at 7.57am and 8.09am, arriving at West Leederville Station at approximately 8.20am and 8.32am respectively. From school – Route 85 departs Railway Pde adjacent to West Leederville Station (Stop No 12783) at 3.07pm and 3.10pm, arriving at Glendalough Station at 3.35pm and 3.38pm respectively Check Timetable 43 for more information. 5 Getting to Bob Hawke College Route 96 Route 96 travels between UWA and Leederville Station via Dog Swamp, Loftus St and Thomas St To school - Route 96 departs Nangar St after Flinders St (Stop No 25948) adjacent to Dog Swamp Shopping Centre at 7.38am, arriving at Leederville Station at 8.00am. Once at Leederville Station, students can transfer to School Special 728 which departs at 8.02am. More information on page 8. From school – Route 96 departs Roberts Rd (Stand 2 - Stop No 28070) outside Bob Hawke College at 3.10pm, passing Leederville Station at 3.20pm, before terminating at Dog Swamp Shopping Centre at 3.42pm. No transfer is required for students travelling along Loftus St to Dog Swamp. Check Timetable 41 for more information. Route 97 Route 97 travels between UWA and Subiaco Station via Rokeby Rd To school - Route 97 operates frequently to Subiaco Station where students can either walk approximately 10 minutes to school or transfer to the train towards West Leederville. From school – Route 97 departs Roberts Rd (Stop No 28071) outside Bob Hawke College at 3.10pm. Check Timetable 41 for more information. 6 School Special 728 School Special 728 between Leederville Station and Bob Hawke College To school – School Special 728 departs Leederville Station (Stand 2 – Stop No 27119) at 8.02am arriving at Bob Hawke College at approximately 8.14am From school – Students can take timetabled Route 96 which travels to Dog Swamp Shopping Centre via Leederville Station. Route 990 Route 990 travels between Perth Busport and Scarborough Beach Bus Station via Charles St and Glendalough Station A number of Route 990 trips are timed to connect with Route 28 trips from Perth Busport and Route 85 trips from Glendalough Station. To school – Route 990 departs Perth Busport at 7.39am and arrives at Glendalough Station at 7.55am. The bus then continues as Route 85 to West Leederville Station departing at 7.57am. From school – Students can catch Route 85 from West Leederville Station to Glendalough Station at 3.07pm. The bus then continues as Route 990 to Perth Busport via Scarborough Beach Rd. There is no need for students to transfer at Glendalough Station if they catch the bus departing West Leederville Station at 3.07pm.
