Kevin Woodbridge • Graduate Assistant Coach

Kevin Woodbridge is the graduate assistant coach for the ESU baseball program during the 2010 season. He will be the Warriors’ pitching coach under head coach John Kochmansky and will also assist with recruiting and the day-to-day operations of the program. Woodbridge resides in Bangor, PA and played baseball at Bangor High School before moving on to Arcardia University, where he was a for four years and team captain as a senior when the squad made the fi rst postseason appearance in school history. He ranks in the top 10 in school history in ERA, appearances and saves and went his fi nal 41 appearances without a loss from early in his sophomore year until the end of his senior season. He was an assistant coach at Arcadia for four years before taking over as head coach in 2007, when he led his team to the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference regular season title (24-12, 17-4) to receive PAC Coach of the Year honors. He was the youngest coach of the year award recipient in conference history and guided a pitching staff that lowered the school record for ERA by more than a full run (3.67) and allowed four home runs in 277 innings.

The program dates back to the Normal 1930 8 6 R. Mitterling School’s fi rst year of existence in the spring of 1894. According to research done by ESU historian 1931 8 2 R. Mitterling 1932 7 3 1 R. High School and the Easton Athletics. The team 1937 8 3 2 S. Roberts fi nished with a 5-1 record. Just as Thanksgiving is a traditional football day, Memorial Day was a 1938 3 4 S. Roberts baseball day in the community. There was a morning-afternoon doubleheader featuring the Normal 1939 4 7 2 S. Roberts 1940 6 1 J. Kowalski school team. 1941 9 4 J. Kowalski Collegiate teams began to replace secondary school and club teams during the 1920s. The 1942 9 1 J. Kowalski school became a four-year college, the East Stroudsburg State Teachers’ College, during the 1926-27 1943-45 No Team 1946 3 3 Frank Grimm school term. East Stroudsburg played against other state teacher colleges, such as Bloomsburg and 1947 n/a Ed Shay Mansfi eld, and was proclaimed the Pennsylvania State Teachers College champions under Coach 1948 8 2 Ed Shay George Ockershausen in 1957 after beating Kutztown, 7-4. 1949 4 3 1 Ed Shay 1950 3 6 Ed Shay The Warriors won conference titles in 1963 and 1969. Ockershausen and the Warriors won the crown. They beat Shippensburg, 5-2, behind Don Cook’s fi ve-hit, 10- 1953 6 5 G. Ockershausen 1954 7 5 G. Ockershausen strikeout performance, and Edinboro, 2-0, as Don Rentschler hurled a seven-hit shutout. 1955 8 3 G. Ockershausen One of the most successful East Stroudsburg teams was Coach Glenn Hayes’ 1985 squad which 1956 6 5 G. Third baseman Jeff Pfeiff er was the team’s standout player and earned 1959 6 4 G. Ockershausen placement to the NCAA Division II All-America third team. He batted .440 with 10 home runs. Stern hit a sizzling .442 and had a four-year career batting average of .381. The 1964 9 5 G.
