It is a study of patterns of medical pluralism among women with chronic disease. It is a study to identify the user demand, utilization of alternate therapy, belief in usefulness by users, satisfaction level, and reasons for use of particular therapy and decision makers which are the potential factors for achieving Brief Summary Universal Health Coverage. This study is an interviewer-administered questionnaire. Face to face Interview will be conducted using a printed questionnaire till factors for achieving Universal Health Coverage. This study is an interviewer-administered questionnaire. Face to face Interview will be conducted using a printed questionnaire. Pilot study or baseline study will be conducted after obtaining ethical approval. Among 98 villages in Kundapur Taluk, 15 villages will randomly be selected. 100 households from each village are selected randomly. From a complete list of eligible women in the selected villages, the respondents are selected using a simple random sampling technique. Informed consent will be obtained at the beginning of the interview. With the help of a printed questionnaire face to face interview with subjects will be conducted using a questionnaire. If left unmanaged, salinity has serious implications for water quality, biodiversity, agricultural productivity, supply of water for critical human needs and industry and the longevity of infrastructure. The Coastal Salinity has become a persistent problem due to ingress of the sea water inland. This is the most significant environmental and economical challenge and needs immediate attention. The coastal areas are more susceptible as these are pockets of development in the country. Most of the trade happens in the coastal areas which lead to extensive migration in the coastal areas. This led to the depletion of the coastal fresh water resources. Digging more and more deeper wells has led to the ingress of sea water into the fresh water aquifers turning them saline. The rainfall patterns, water resources, geology/hydro-geology vary from region to region along the coastal belt.

    DISTRICT DISASTER MANAGEMENT PLAN- UDUPI UDUPI DISTRICT 2015-16 -1- -2- Executive Summary The District Disaster Management Plan is a key part of an emergency management. It will play a significant role to address the unexpected disasters that occur in the district effectively. The information available in DDMP is valuable in terms of its use during disaster. Based on the history of various disasters that occur in the district, the plan has been so designed as an action plan rather than a resource book. Utmost attention has been paid to make it handy, precise rather than bulky one. This plan has been prepared which is based on the guidelines from the National Institute of Disaster Management (NIDM). While preparing this plan, most of the issues, relevant to crisis management, have been carefully dealt with. During the time of disaster there will be a delay before outside help arrives. At first, self-help is essential and depends on a prepared community which is alert and informed. Efforts have been made to collect and develop this plan to make it more applicable and effective to handle any type of disaster. The DDMP developed touch upon some significant issues like Incident Command System (ICS), In fact, the response mechanism, an important part of the plan is designed with the ICS. It is obvious that the ICS, a good model of crisis management has been included in the response part for the first time. It has been the most significant tool for the response manager to deal with the crisis within the limited period and to make optimum use of the available resources.
