The Life of the Artist Paul Cezanne Sunday, August 30th at 4:00 PM, Monday, August 31st & Tuesday, September 1st at Noon, Channel 1901 Paul Cézanne was a French artist and Post-Impressionist painter whose work laid the foundations of the transition from the 19th-century conception of artistic endeavor to a new and radically different world of art in the 20th century.

Victory at Sea: Sealing the Breach Sunday, August 30th at 4:30 PM and Monday, August 31st at 4:30 PM on 1901 Victory at Sea was a popular documentary television series about warfare in general during World War II, and naval warfare in particular, as well as the use of industry in warfare. This is the third in a series of 26 episodes that will be shown on Channel 1901.

FORKK: Introducing Chef Shimer Sunday, August 30th, Monday, August 31st, and Thursday, September 3rd at 5:30 PM on Channel 1901 Welcome New Executive Chef Adam Shimer. Adam will be making pork carnitas in a hand made tortilla topped with diced onion, cilantro and Cotija cheese served with Mexican rice and Frijoles Charro.

New Name Badges Retake Dates If you did not get your picture taken for the new name badges or need a retake, you may have it done on the following dates and times. Wednesday, September 2 & Thursday, September 3 from 9am-2pm in Apple 133 Please note that one retake on these dates will be issued complimentary. Future retakes or replacement name badges will be at a cost of $10 per badge. If you already had a picture taken but have not received your badge, please contact Jill Steco x5420 to arrange a time and date to pick it up. Please wear your new name badges when out of your homes while on campus for identification purposes. You will still need to carry your FOBs for building access until future notice.

Pom Pom Squad Meets weekly on Fridays at 10am-11am in Assembly Hall starting September 4 Learn a simple routine to “Girls Just Want to Have Fun” and the Friendship Village Cheer routine. Routines are adaptable to your ability level! On September 4, we will select the poms to purchase. We hope you will come and join us and commit to the weekly live practices!

Foreign Flavors- Thailand Friday September 4th at 2:00pm on FTV Channel 1901 Have you ever wanted to visit Thailand and taste some of their flavorful snacks? Please join Joshlyn and the FV ladies tasting Thai snacks along with a short presentation tour to Thailand.

Bingo in Assembly Hall Friday, September 4th at 2:00PM in Assembly Hall Registration is required for this in person event. It can be made through your CareMerge, or call x4254. All attendees ARE REQUIRED to wear a mask and properly. No exceptions. Play is regular bingo, no cash exchange, but candy rewards!

An Evening with Nat King Cole Friday, September 4th at 7:00 PM on Channel 1901 Fans of both Nat "King" Coles--the swinging hipster and the mainstream pop crooner--should find something to admire in this rare TV performance, first broadcast by the BBC in 1961.

Forgotten Flicks: The Hound of the Baskervilles (1939) Saturday, September 5th at 8:00PM on 1901 Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) is intrigued by a centuries-old legend in which every generation of the wealthy Baskerville family is eventually killed by a monstrous hound.

Spiritual Life

Village Worship Sunday, August 30 and Wednesday, September 2, 10:30 AM; FTV Join Chaplain Jon as he leads Village Worship, a time of music, prayer and hearing to God’s word.

Remembrance Service Tuesday, September 8, 10:30 AM; Assembly Hall Sign up to attend the in-person Service of Remembrance. We will be remembering residents who entered God’s eternal care in April, May or June of 2020. Reservations are required to assure social distancing. Reserve on Caremerge, or for reservation assistance by phone, call x5015 starting Monday, August 31. If you reach voicemail, leave a message. (This service will also be broadcast on FTV).

Arts and Crafts- Open Craft Arts and crafts will be open starting Monday, August 31st and Friday, September 4th. We are located on Apple 3rd floor – A392. The craft room will be open every Monday in August from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Please come check out the craft items we will be working on for the month of August or come to work on your crafts! Mask are required.

Lifestyles “Recreation A La Carte” If you would like to receive word search puzzles, crosswords, crafts, coloring sheets, trivia sheets, joke sheets. contact Joshlyn at x 5033. Floor CCCs turn into “Conversation” during COVID Times Do you miss the camaraderie of these monthly meetings? Guess what, they are starting up again.
