  • Submission on Future Transport 2056
1 SUBMISSION ON FUTURE TRANSPORT 2056 Greater Sydney Services & Infrastructure Plan Trunk Corridors An important corridor that is conspicuous by its absence, compared with previous transport studies, is a direct link between Macquarie Park and Parramatta. These are two of the largest strategic employment centres in the metropolitan area and it beggars belief that it’s not considered important enough to warrant inclusion as a major trunk route. Perhaps this is a consequence of the Greater Sydney Commission’s proposal to truncate the Global Economic Corridor Arc at Macquarie Park, instead of the previous strategy of extending it to Parramatta. A retrograde step in my view. Previous Metropolitan Planning Strategies had stressed the importance of investigating improved transport links between Macquarie Park and Parramatta, but this now appears to have slipped off the radar. This should be reinstated. Future Networks Initiatives for Investigation (10-20 Years) – South - East Mass Transit Link In addition to a South - East Mass Transit link, an extension of the Eastern Suburbs Railway should be investigated from Bondi Junction to North Bondi via Bondi Road, and Bondi Beach, with a branch to Bronte Beach via Charing Cross and Bronte. The potential capacity of the ESR is grossly underutilised and these extensions would assist in increasing patronage as well as relieving road congestion. 2 Parramatta to Epping/Macquarie Park Mass Transit Link The Parramatta to Epping Mass Transit link investigation should also include consideration of an alternative route from Parramatta to Macquarie Park via Eastwood. The focus on this corridor should be on a direct link between Parramatta and Macquarie Park, which will be the major trip generators.

  • 4. Embedding Human Rights Mechanisms Within Shell Headquarters
    4. Embedding within Shell Headquarters 4. Embedding human rights mechanisms within Shell Headquarters This first empirical chapter describes and analyses the process of embedding (implementation and internalisation) of the human rights mechanisms within the Headquarters of Shell1. This way, an answer is provided to the first research question (identifying the mechanisms of embedding human rights) by providing an analysis about the mechanisms through which Shell Headquarters embeds human rights in its policies and procedures. In addition, the degree of implementation and internalisation of human rights is also determined at Shell Headquarters level (second research question). Finally, by describing the process of implementation and internalisation, this chapter also provides more insight in explaining the degree of implementation and internalisation of these human rights mechanisms within Shell Headquarters (third research question). The chapter starts with explaining the use of data (section 4.1), after which the overall policy and objectives of the company (section 4.2) and the company’s approaches to embed human rights (section 4.3). Section 4.4 will introduce the Shell Group’s management system, after which sections 4.5 to 4.10 will then analyse how human rights is embedded according to Shell’s spheres of influence: employees (section 4.5), contractors (section 4.6), security forces (section 4.7), communities (section 4.8), government (section 4.9) and the international society (section 4.10). Section 4.11 continues the analysis with determining the degree of internalisation of human rights in Shell Headquarters. The chapter ends with a short summary and initial conclusion in section 4.12.

Willoughby City Council AGENDA TRAFFIC COMMITTEE MEETING NO 4/2017 16 August 2017 Notice of Traffic Committee Meeting to be held in the Banksia Room Willoughby City Council Administration Building Level 6, 31 Victor Street, Chatswood commencing 9:30am WILLOUGHBY CITY COUNCIL TRAFFIC COMMITTEE The following information is provided so that you may be aware of the structure and operation of the Willoughby City Traffic Committee. The Willoughby Traffic Committee is not a Committee of Willoughby City Council but a Technical Committee of the Roads and Maritime Services. Council has been delegated certain powers, from the Roads and Maritime Services, with regard to traffic matters upon its local roads. A condition of this delegation is that Council must take into account the Traffic Committee recommendations. There are four permanent members of the Traffic Committee, each of whom has a single vote only. The members are the NSW Police Service, the Roads and Maritime Services, the Local State Member of Parliament (for the location of the issue to be voted upon), and Willoughby City Council. Willoughby City Council operates its Traffic Committee such that the single Council vote, upon any issue is held by the Chair of the Meeting. Generally the Traffic Committee meetings are chaired by a staff member of Council’s Transport Management Group. Willoughby City Council allows the public to attend and speak at its Traffic Committee on issues of concern for a maximum of five minutes. If either the Police or RMS representative on the Traffic Committee disagrees with any Traffic Committee recommendation, or Council resolution on any Traffic Committee recommendation, that member may lodge an appeal with the Sydney Regional Traffic Committee for determination.

  • Reports on Completed Research for 2014
Reports on Completed Research for 2014 “Supporting worldwide research in all branches of Anthropology” REPORTS ON COMPLETED RESEARCH The following research projects, supported by Foundation grants, were reported as complete during 2014. The reports are listed by subdiscipline, then geographic area (where applicable) and in alphabetical order. A Bibliography of Publications resulting from Foundation-supported research (reported over the same period) follows, along with an Index of Grantees Reporting Completed Research. ARCHAEOLOGY Africa: DR. JAMIE LYNN CLARK, University of Alaska, Fairbanks, Alaska, received a grant in April 2013 to aid research on “The Sibudu Fauna: Implications for Understanding Behavioral Variability in the Southern African Middle Stone Age.” This project sought to gain a deeper understanding of human behavioral variability during the Middle Stone Age through the analysis of the Still Bay (SB; ~71,000 ya) and pre-SB (>72,000 ya) fauna from Sibudu Cave. In addition to characterizing variation in human hunting behavior within and between the two periods, the project had two larger goals. First, to explore whether the data were consistent with hypotheses linking the appearance of the SB to environmental change. No significant changes in the relative frequency of open vs. closed dwelling species were identified, with species preferring closed habitats predominant throughout. This suggests that at Sibudu, the onset of the SB was not correlated with climate change. Secondly, data collected during this project will be combined with lithic and faunal data from later deposits at Sibudu in order to explore the relationship between subsistence and technological change spanning from the pre-SB through the post-Howiesons Poort MSA (~58,000 ya).

January 2018 Thessaloniki - Greece Abstract This dissertation was written as part of the MA in Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean Studies at the International Hellenic University. The aim of this dissertation is to collect as much information as possible on agricultural practices in Macedonia from prehistory to Roman times and examine them within their social and cultural context. Chapter 1 will offer a general introduction to the aims and methodology of this thesis. This chapter will also provide information on the geography, climate and natural resources of ancient Macedonia from prehistoric times. We will them continue with a concise social and cultural history of Macedonia from prehistory to the Roman conquest. This is important in order to achieve a good understanding of all these social and cultural processes that are directly or indirectly related with the exploitation of land and agriculture in Macedonia through time. In chapter 2, we are going to look briefly into the origins of agriculture in Macedonia and then explore the most important types of agricultural products (i.e.

The following six species are treated: Agonopterix scopariella (Heinemann, 1870), A. conciliatella (Rebel, 1892), A. vendettella (Chrétien, 1908) (new to Madeira), A. perezi Walsingham, 1908, Depressaria marcella Rebel, 1901 (new to Madeira and the Azores), and D. halophilella Chrétien, 1908. The latter replaces Depressaria ultimella Stainton, 1849 in the list of Lepidoptera found in Madeira. Depressaria iliensis Rebel, 1936 is a synonym of Agonopterix vendettella (Chrétien, 1908) (syn. nov.). Depressaria halophilella is new to the Canary Islands.
