PRESENTS MICHELLE M. NUÑEZ

Founder Chair Artistic Director Executive Producer WORD FROM OUR FOUNDER

Live theatre is the purest, swiftest, rawest mode of storytelling, Special thanks to the unadulterated flow of ideas and passions between artist Jose Luis Valenzula and and audience.

Live theatre brings people from all walks of life together in an act of public discourse, but that discourse doesn’t end as the curtain falls. The power of a performance extends a long way beyond the auditorium doors — theatre moves hearts and minds and energizes people into working towards improving their communities. Why bother creating art unless we use our creations to illuminate and elevate the human condition?

Yet theatre is a missing piece of Los Angeles’ cultural identity. Despite the wealth of talent in our city (and a will to participate) the fact is regular Angelenos lack access to engaging, quality and meaningful theatre-going experiences that reflect the truth about their lives and social situations. Belle Rêve’s goal is to take theatre back to its original intent; to take the art form and place it in the hands of real people. Founded by Michelle M. Núñez in 2017, BELLE RÊVE THEATRE COMPANY’s mission is to reinvent Los Angeles as the home of vibrant, exciting, provocative world-class stage productions.

Our diverse collective will introduce previously underserved audiences to new productions that elevate civic discourse, enrich the human spirit, and foster greater understanding of others.

Belle Rêve Theatre Company is a 501(3)(c) non-profit organization. At least 20% of Belle Rêve tickets are distributed to underserved and impacted communities, without charge, through the generous support of our public-minded partner organizations and individuals. WHO WE ARE

Stories that are supposed to be about “the people”, the people can’t afford to go and see them, and the perspectives of the people putting it together “ aren’t the perspectives of “the people”... They (Belle Rêve) have gotten sponsorships for people that have a direct connection to this story in “Time Alone”; to actually come and see that THEIR LIVES CAN BE ART. THAT’S WHAT SHAKESPEARE DID; HE TOOK THE MOST COMMON THINGS AND TURNED THEM INTO ART. – TONYA PINKINS ”
