Our program includes lots and lots of local authenticity and experiential travel. This allows travelers and locals to share their stories. With a package that includes from escorted tours of planned activities to gain and experience first-hand knowledge of our local culture, environment, nature and traditions.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

We provide Bilingual tour guide (Spanish and English; French and/or German, upon special requests only), tour transportation, tours, entrances fees, a going-away gift per visitor, and personalized service, as described, unless otherwise indicated. Prices DO NOT include international airfare, accommodation (unless a Tour/Lodging package is chosen), meals, optional travel insurance or any other services not expressly mentioned.

We carry water bottles, a snack per visitor, an emergency kit, gel and individual antibacterial towels, sanitary paper, sun block, mosquito repellent and beach towels.

There will be no refunds for canceled reservations on tours. All reservation must include a 50% non-refundable deposit. The guest may reschedule the tour, and it will carry an administrative cost of 25.00 USD per person per tour and it is subject to availability. A minimum of 4 visitors is required to do a tour.

These packages rates do not apply to any other promotion, retirement discount, group or extended stay. The length of each tour is approximate. All subject to availability and changes. All prices are listed in USD. Panama has an extensive network of health services throughout its territory. At the province level, there are health centers, clinics, and hospitals with high professional capacity and advanced technological equipment to care for all kinds of emergencies and situations that need rapid medical intervention. ARTISAN DAY Description: During the tour we will visit the local artisans, known for their laborious work in the making of the typical national costume, the Pollera. From the moment the drawings come to life, to the delicate embroidering and the many hands involved in the making of the Polleras and all regional dresses. We will appreciate the manufacturing of tembleques and mundillos, cutarras, totumas, hats, bags, and motetes. Duration: 3-4 hours Price per person: 50.00

2. HISTORIC ROUTE TOUR Description: We will visit the points of greatest historical, religious and architectural interest within the district of Las Tablas, Guararé, and La Villa. Note: not available on Mondays. Duration: 3-4 hours Price per person: 50.00

LOCAL FARM VISIT & MOLIENDA (CAÑAVERAL, CORTE, MOLIENDA Y COCINAR LA MIEL) Description: We will visit a family run and operated farm, specialized in the manufacturing of artisan produces, surrounded by abundant nature, with a rich and varied flora and fauna. There you can enjoy a walk with a guide so that the visitor can enjoy all the produces grown there, and the dedication of this family to preserve their heritage and ways of living. The visitor can savor a typical snack of the countryside, with a delicious cup of coffee or natural refreshment and learn about the different ornamental plants, fruit, and vegetables in a small family farm and pick some fruit of their liking. Milling is a very common activity in the central provinces during this time of the year. It consists of the artisanal processing of the sugar cane to obtain the precious honey of cane, a product of great utility for our man of the field. The milling process can last three to four hours depending on the size of the task and how much you want to force the animal to grind. It is common that during this process, the people involved in the grinding pick up guarapo from the trapiche to take it, as it is a very refreshing and tasty drink. The process of cooking honey starts at mid-morning and can take almost until late afternoon. The final product is honey cans, which are then sold or used at home to sweeten beverages and for other purposes. Apart from its economic function, milling often also fulfills a social function, as it often becomes a family or neighbors meeting. Some mill owners still have the habit of providing free guarapo to neighbors and visitors, as well as inviting their friends to bring plantains to cook on honey. Note: lunch or dinner in site. 4. RIVER EXPLORATION AND COOK OUT TOUR Description: we will visit the river, where you can take a relaxing bath, relax, or see monkeys hauling and swinging around, iguanas and a variety of birds. Explore the surrounding forest and enjoy a fire wood cooked sancocho, where you can participate in the process of cooking or just of seeing how it is done, ingredients used and the tasty flavor and aroma from it. 5. CERRO CANAJAGUA HIKING TOUR Description: Explore this massive expanse of state park, the subject of pride for all tableños. You will be exposed to the best of what this park and its trails have to offer. See how ecosystems interact with each other, and observe birdlife that's unique to the area. 9. EQUESTRIAN SPORTS TOURS (COLEO, LAZO COMPETITION/MONTA DE TOROS) Description: Coleo is a traditional sport, very similar to a rodeo, where a small group of coleadores (cowboys) on horseback pursue cattle at high speeds through a narrow pathway, in order to drop or tumble them. Competencia de Lazo (Lasso Competition) is among the most popular sporting events and is unofficially considered the national sport, where teams of twelve riders compete to lasso a calf weighing about 136 kilograms (300 pounds) in the shortest possible time. Monta de Toros (Bull riding) is a rodeo sport that involves a rider getting on a bucking bull and attempting to stay mounted while the animal tries to buck off the rider. Los Santos competitors are highly ranked and international and regional coleo, lazo and monta competitions and tournaments are held several times throughout the province and all year long. LOCAL CATTLE FARM WORK TOUR: Description: at a local cattle farm grounds you will visit with the farmer while cattle and calves are separated to prepare the mother for the following morning milking, and assist in the feeding of the calf, repair life fences, vaccinating or branding, if needed. 11. EVENING WALKING TOUR OF HISTORIC LAS TABLAS (weather permitted). Description: the beauty and tranquility of the town, lights and night life ensures you will learn a thing or two about how Las Tablas came to be, while visiting some of its landmarks and historic sites. 13. JUNTA DE EMBARRE OR BUILD A MUD HUT (SUBJECT TO EVENT AVAILABILITY). Description: The mud hut building team, or Junta de Embarre, is a tradition of Panama’s countryside and a beautiful example of the locals’ spirit of community, as family, friends and neighbors come together to build a traditional mud hut. The day prior to the “junta”, the locals start building the framework of the house with wood from the area. The next day, early in the morning, the mud is being prepared with a mix of special clay, hay and water. At that point, the men form a human chain by grabbing each other’s shoulders and start stamping the mud in order to compact the mixture of clay. Balls of clay are then formed and applied to the wooden framework in order to build the house. The most experienced men form the balls of clay with their feet and kick them to their colleagues who catch them and put them on the house’s framework. During this hard work, the bottle of Seco, strong local liquor is never out of reach, and the men often practice the “saloma”, a traditional howl often heard in Panama’s rural areas, while women prepare breakfast and lunch and serve refreshments. 14. GASTRONOMIC TOUR Description: The visitor can enjoy a demonstration of the variety of products made in the past: cooked with firewood or dried in the sun or smoked. It will take part directly in its preparation, elaboration and tasting and you will be able to take home the memory of a beautiful experience of how you prepare and bake the pipote and rosca bread in a traditional clay oven, the deliciousness of the typical viands of Los Santos like chicharrón, yuca, sun dried or smoked pork or beef, a sancocho, arroz con pollo, tamales, roasted tortillas, changa, fritters, lechona, buñuelos, chorizas tableñas, and traditional desserts such as the queque, chicheme, cocaditas, seren, dulce de marañón, the famous cocada, rosquetes and many other delicacies of Panamanian gastronomy. 15. FOLK EVENT TOUR Description: Matanza/Fairs/Parties/Patronal Feast/Folkloric Festival or other traditional or folkloric event, the visitor can enjoy the joy and share a folkloric and traditional activity, enlivened with murgas, tamboritos, accordions, typical dance, food, fireworks and healthy fun with the local people. In the roads generally used for the producers, there are routes that offer a multitude of varied flora and fauna, attractive to nature lovers and those enjoying outdoor activities. After that we will visit our land mark: Cerro La Teta and enjoy its beautiful views from its slopes. The guest may climb it if he/she wishes to (about 450 MASL). Duration: 2-3 hours. 18. ISLA CAÑAS DAY TOUR Description: In Isla Cañas you have included: boat with life jackets to the visitors center of the place, use of the facilities (kayaks, body boards, surfboards, hammocks, chairs, tour through the mangroves and lunch at the end of the tour. It will also have public use chairs and snorkeling equipment for public use. And at the end of the tour, you can enjoy a delicious lunch.
