Everyone can have their own perception whether beauty and brains can go together or not. What comes to your mind when I say the word ‘beauty’ is one’s complexion, height and appearance. In my opinion, being beautiful is not about having good looks but it is the way you present yourself. Your integrity, your passion, your knowledge is what your true beauty is. Having good nature with a pleasant personality is what makes you beautiful. A person with creative ideas in his mind will always look beautiful to everyone because with his ideas he can motivate, lead and also help others. So finally he seems to look beautiful to the people around him. If you have a smart brain, you can make your personality very attractive and bold also. Without thought power life is like a day without sunshine. External looks alone cannot excel in life. Beauty with brains is undoubtedly a unique and nice combination to excel in the life arena. Qansa Wasif Ali Grade – X FRIENDSHIP A friend is a special person who makes a person’s life beautiful. Friendship is the purest form of relation on earth. Having a true friend is like having a million diamonds. It is the most precious gift to all of us. A friend is the one who's there in our good as well as bad times. Friends love us unconditionally, understand us and do not judge us. They stand with us when we need them. They will do anything to make us smile. The power of friendship is all the magic we need. Qansa Wasif Ali Grade – X First of all, friendship is the best relationship in the world. A friend is someone with whom you can share anything. Friends are the only ones who can even see us cry.We don’t need to be embarrassed in front of them. So never say no to friends because they are an indispensable part of our life. K. Nayana Bharathi Grade – X 11 BEING HEAD BOY To say I have followed every rule and towed every line would not quite be true. Being head boy is more than just wearing a badge. It is being in charge of prefects and ensuring everyone does their job. It is taking a neutral ground in disputes, no matter who is involved. It is about being polite and friendly and working sensibly with staff. It is listening to the problems of students within the school and taking the improvements they suggest. It is also to maintain proper discipline. Being Head Boy gave me the motivation to do well in school. Now more than ever, thinking before I speak and act is natural, because I have to think how my actions affect others. As Head Boy, I have to set an example, not only to the prefects but to the school.

  • Political News Election
HTTP://WWW.UPSCPORTAL.COM POLITICAL NEWS ELECTION COMMISSION AT 60 After overseeing 15 general elections to the Lok Sabha, the Election Commission of India, in its diamond jubilee year, can with justifiable pride claim to have nursed and st rengthened the electoral processes of a nascent democracy. The successes have not been consiste nt or uniform, but over the last six decades the ECI managed to make the worlds largest democratic p rocess freer and fairer. One of the instruments of this success is surely the Model Code of C onduct. D esigned to offer a level playing field to all political parties, it has been used to neu tralise many of the inherent advantages of a ruling party in an election. Although the model code wa s originally based on political consensus and does not still enjoy statutory sanction, it served as a handy tool for placing curbs on the abuse of the official machinery for campaigning. While ther e have been complaints of excess in the sometimes mindless application of the model code, th e benefits have generally outweighed the costs. After the Election Commission was made a three-member body, its functioning beca me more institutionalised and more transparent with little room for the caprices of an o verbearing personality. The diamond jubilee is also an occasion for the ECI to look at the challenges ah ead, especially those relating to criminalisation of politics and use of money power in elections. Neither of these issues is new. What is clear is that the efforts of the Commission to t ackle them have generally lacked conviction and have not yielded any significant results.
