Houseboats and backwaters are the two major tourist attractions among the many attractive places in Kerala. Thus the house boat services on the backwaters of Kerala is an essential consideration for the local people, Tourism sector, development of the State, as Tourism today is a crucial factor in world trade with international and multi-faceted dimensions as a means of earning foreign exchange, as a provider of employment and as a powerful tool of development. Hence this study focus to examine the house boat services rendered to the tourists, the enjoyment they reap out of the cruise and the delight the tourists gain on the waters which will also bestow increase the economy of the state. Thus this paper focuses on the perception of the tourists about the services rendered by the house boats in Kumarakom, Aleppey district.
