Photo from Philippine Star http://www.facebook.com/lopezlinkonline www.twitter.com/lopezlinkph 11.20.2011 Run for the Pasig River Making another run at world record “I am part of a Guinness World Record.” This slogan can be spotted emblazoned on a line of T-shirts sold at select SM branches, one of the special merchandise released in advance of 11.20.2011 Run for the Pasig River organized by Kapit Bisig Para sa Ilog Pasig (KBPIP). The previous edition of the annual advocacy fun run, held on October 10, 2010, was indeed one for the record books: 116,086 participants ran in support of KBPIP’s goal of a clean Pasig River from various points in the metro and converged at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay. As it was, 10.10.10 was a quantum leap from A Run for the Pasig River’s 23,000 runners in 2009. But with ABS-CBN Foundation Inc. (AFI) managing director Gina Lopez (GL) vowing during 10.10.10 that “every year we will break the record, we Photo by: will keep running until the river is cleaned,” Lopez Group kapamilyas are in for a more massive run three DOY weeks from now. FEFF 23 will be taking place in Udine and online from Thursday 24 June to Friday 2 July. Press release for 9 June, 2021 For immediate publication/release UDINE – A throwdown is when you get knocked to the ground. It's an action, and even more a state of mind, that inspired one of Johnnie To's masterpieces and which perfectly captures the dynamics - social, political, health and emotional - of the last year and a half. There's no need to go over why - what we need, what we really need, is to stay focused on the "after" part. The action, and even more so the state of mind, that every throw down triggers: that instinct to get back up. The instinct to not stay down there, where the body blows of history have made us fall. That's the idea - we might even call it the operational philosophy - behind the Far East Film Festival 23: documenting the “after”. Showing a world, the world of Asian cinema, which refuses to resign itself to immobility and is intent on getting back on its feet again..
