EU environmental product regulations may also affect companies that do not do business activities within the EU, as they affect the entire supply chain. • The Environment Committee monitors policy trends in each environmental product regulation field and offers requests to the EU policy authorities when necessary.

• The EU-Japan governments announced the successful conclusion of the final discussions on the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) on the 8th December, 2017.

14 Discussion with EU and Japanese Chief Negotiators on EU-Japan FTA/EPA Negotiations (co-hosted with JBCE and BusinessEurope)

 On 17th May 2017, during the negotiation round on the EU-Japan FTA/EPA at Brussels, JBCE and BusinessEurope co-hosted a forum to discuss the progress of the negotiations inviting Chief Negotiators from both sides.

“How to revolutionize our Industries by a strong Digital Cooperation”?

 JBCE co-organized an event with METI, JMC and EU-Japan Centre on Digital Cooperation at Global Industrie 2018 in Paris, inviting representatives from Japanese and French government and European Commission, to enhance EU-Japan cooperation in the Digital Economy.

 Speakers called the finalisation of the EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) in December 2017 an opportunity for the EU and Japan to collaborate further on the digital economy.
