Not to mention the shitty eating all week leading up to the competition. Everything in Aruba was WAY expensive but w/e.

So by the time I got past squats, the heat had me drained.

The fun part was seeing Brad Gillingham and Priscilla Ribic lift. I have a couple of videos of them.

Well alright, thats all. I'll put some vids up later. ______When I realize that there is no person that is going to come out of the sky and "save" me from the weight; when I realize that the song I am listening to won't make the weight lighter; when I realize that the only way I am going to get that record that I've sacrificed so many things for is to get under the bar, I get under the bar and .

Yesterday, 11:03 AM #5 theduffman oh damn I'm sorry man lol didn't mean any insult you just had a lot more theduffman strength than that looking at your other posts. But yea that's like ideal conditions for terrible lifting. and don't forget just because you're strong doesn't mean you're experienced! I guarantee you if you competed in a few months without gaining any strength in a better environment for a meet you would be much closer to your numbers then you were here but nonetheless yea be happy about your squat I'm looking to hit that raw by the end of summer and I weigh almost a hundred pounds more than you lol

I could go raw, and squat over 450 pounds and according to this worlds rankings, be ranked around 35th in the world for squats in all feds of all ages. OR

I could compete equipped in June, squat 475, deadlift 407 and put up a total that would be 150lbs short of qualifying for the Texas High School Powerlifting Association state meet in the 181lb weight class (which had 37 competitors at 181).

Which one do you think is more impressive???

A 450+ raw squat, or a 555 suited squat that isnt even ranked world wide???

Definitely the third one. ______Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Multiple women deadlifted significantly more than you while weighing significantly less. But that's not a fair comparison, right? You're not a woman. Let's compare apples to apples. Tim Smith, another sub-junior lifter, who competed at men's nationals just a few weeks ago, totaled more than you while weighing ~50lb less.

There was no air conditioning. Boo hoo. What would your excuse have been if you competed at men's nationals?

______Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.
