Buffalo Public Schools Compendium of Community-Based Student Supports to Schools November 2017 Buffalo Public Schools Compendium of Community-Based Student Supports in Schools This Compendium of Community-Based Student Supports in Schools is comprised of a wide array of agencies, faith-based institutions and organizations that provide one or more of the following supports to students and/or families: • academic • attendance improvement • health and wellness • social /emotional • enrichment • college exploration/readiness • family supports (parent and guardian) The Compendium is organized by Buffalo Public School in order and outlines each provider’s program and deliverable/outcome. The document also indicates the cost and/or source of funding for each of the providers. Community-Based partners are an essential element of meeting the needs of the Buffalo Public Schools’ Neediest Children and Families as noted in the district’s New Education Bargain. While this document reflects a few more than 90 organizations focused on providing various levels of student and family supports, it is important to note that there is a need to strengthen relationships between these organizations and the district to better align services for district students and families.
